Yo yo Paizo! I'm ring-a-ding-dinging up this message board because I'm looking for suggestions and advice regarding the creation of a homebrew Pathfinder campaign for my siblings for Christmas. For guidelines, they're all under 13 years of age, and I'm currently leaning towards a Christmas themed Candyland-esque game with an evil Candy Overlord. I won't be using the guidelines for Constructs since that's a little up there for my younger siblings to process and think about. So, I wanted to ask this lovely community of GM and DM's however you want to pronounce it, what you think would be a good baseline set of ideas and goals.

Idle suggestion: what if the quest giver was Santa Claus?

Silver Crusade

Sounds like a fun idea, but you posted to the wrong sub-forum. This area is for discussion of the Pathfinder Society organized play campaign, which only uses Paizo's published adventures. Homebrew stuff should go elsewhere.

So, a holo program one of them got for christmas?

Your post said "Pathfinder" but this is the Starfinder homebrew section...

Either way...

Ahem...

Christmas Catastrophe
(A Pathfinder Campaign for the Kiddies)

This is a short Pathfinder Christmas Adventure...

How the Goblin Grinch Stole Christmas...

We open in classic rhyme:

"In the town of Sandpoint and winter is in the air,
The people laugh freely with naught but a care."

"In the center of town rests large festive tree,
It glows with a light and grants prosperity."

"A gift from the church, a blessing from Erastil,
It blooms each day with food and people eat their fill."

-----

Introduce your players to Sandpoint, what they can buy, build some NPCs that they can interact with. Remember everything is happy. When you have them introduced to the setting, and each other... Get them into a tavern, somewhere inside.

-----

"When a sharp scream erupts quite suddenly,
Followed by goblins laughing with glee.

"The door swings open and a villager cries out with fear,
"We're all gonna die! There's Goblins here!"

"You two legs are happy, the boss says this cannot stand!
We're invading this town, this point in the sand!"

"Won't somebody help us?" A villager cried,
As a Goblin stalked her while grinning with pride.

-----

Toss a basic tavern here, throw on some (between 4-6 depending on your number players and their classes) goblins, your PCs should have no problem stomping them.

-----

"With the goblins routed, the town erupted with cheer!
Thank all the Gods you heroes were here!"

"But why did they attack us?" One person asks,
"They mentioned their boss had ordered this task."

"This was just a distraction, oh can't you see?
While we fought for our lives they made off with our tree!"

"I can tell you where their lair is," one guard then said.
"But few men return, and most are found dead!"

-----

Give your PCs time to rest, etc, until they eventually go out to go after the Goblin Lair.

-----

"The walk took some time as you trudged through the snow,
The knee high flurry made your progress quite slow,"

"Eventually your eyes then spotted the cave,
This was the location of the lair that the guard had gave."

"Outside the cave in the distance you see,
Three Goblins shivering, on guard duty."

"This isn't fair!" One of them started to whine,
"We're stuck in the cold while the boss gets to dine?"

-----

Set up an outside of a cave ambush where you have 3 goblins. Your players can approach from stealth, however they want. Let them go nuts.

-----

"You trounced the Goblins, they are beaten and more,
It seems they were the only ones guarding the door."

-----

Let them go in, plan out a few Christmas-y rooms, write down a few rhymes. Make it cute. Have things like Goblins who have hung smelly old boots on the walls that are filled with fetid meat. Things like that.

Eventually they will come to a Goblin Throne room.

-----

"You're eyes just amaze you, as what should appear?
A jolly fat goblin and an armored reindeer!"

"He wears a red suit, and a beard of course hair,
You can't help but think you've seen him somewhere."

"I'm Nicky the Goblin!" He says with a laugh.
"You've chosen poorly when you set on this path!"

"I know why you're here, I'm not blind you see,
You've come here to take back the Holiday tree!"

"I'm the biggest there is, and I'm fat as a house!
I'll crush you like you were naught but a mouse!"

-----

Nicky is an Advanced Goblin. Randalf the Reindeer is a Reindeer Animal Companion. They fight until dead.

-----

"You've beaten the Goblins and reclaimed the tree,
The town is grateful as heck and exploding with glee."

"We will never forget you, brave heroes all,
You saved our Holiday and you answered the call."

"A party was held that was quite out of sight,
I've been your DM and I wish you goodnight."
