Investigator: Can you use vital strike on a studied strike?

Rules Questions

Hello.
Question is in the title. I looked a bit on google. I only found that Vital strike seems to work with power attack and sneak attack.

Also, what do you think is better for a 2/3 BAB, Vital Strike or Power Attack?

Well, Studied Strike triggers when you hit with a melee weapon attack. Since it isn’t its own standard action to activate, then I’d say that you can use a vital strike standard action attack to trigger a Studied Strike.

Liberty's Edge

Investigators have access to Studied Combat, Mutagen, and Heroism. It's not unusual for them to be running around with higher attack mods than full BAB classes, so Power Attack is really not a bad plan.

You can use Vital Strike with Studied Strike. Just note that the additional damage from Studied Strike is not increased by Vital Strike, as it is precision damage. Vital Strike does not increase the amount of precision damage an attack does.

I can't find mutagen on the Investigator class features. Is that a mistake or do you need a talent or a feat to unlock it?

Grand Lodge

Yup, you have to grab mutagen with a talent.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber

The investigator gets access to certain alchemist discoveries, one of which is mutagen.
