Mechs?

Hey there. Was just curious to know if mechs were mentionned as coming in the future at any points, during interviews or posts anywhere. Only real sources please, not friend of a friend sorta stuff. Thank you.

Well, define mech. We already have mech suits.

If you are talking giant piloted robots.. Im curious too.

I'm pretty sure this has been brought up a few times and addressed at PaizoCon, GenCon, and on these boards. If I recall correctly, the creative team have said that if mechs are something we want then it is likely that we will get it at some point in the future. No official announcements have been made yet.

It really depends on what kind of mech you want.

Some of the power armor options blur the line between "armor" and "mech", especially the Huge flight suit that can measure in at a weight of 16 tons and a height of 32 ft. Most Battlestyle Mechs is considerably less nimble than the Starfinder Power Armor, and fits comfortably in the Gargantuan size category. You might be able to make something with the vehicle rules. Warhammer 40k [url=http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Titan[/url] mechs would be a whole other beast. I wouldn't even know where to start with something on that scale.

Search the boards for "Mechfinder." Someone has ginned up a pretty comprehensive set of mech rules.

I will definitely check it out! Thanks a lot!

I haven't done much work on it lately. While it should be fully usable, I want to tidy it up and expand the library of prebuilt mechs and support ships. I'm just so danged exhausted and depressed all the time.

Depression is no joke. Take care of yourself and know your work is appreciated out here, however much or little time or energy you have for it on any given day.

According to that web page, Titans usually stand between 50-150 feet high, while the largest stands as high as over 400 feet. Honestly, just simply being colossal should be good enough for even the largest ones, assuming Starfinder mechs will be used for ground combat.

Now that the Armory is out, here's my take:
- Powered Armors can now be upgraded.
- Several Large armors are available.
- A Gargantuan armor is added; we still have a single Huge one so far.
- Some new vehicles are walkers, and yes, that count as mechs.
- Note that mechs come in any size.
* In Overwatch, D.Va's mech isn't this big.
* In League of Legends, Rumble's mech isn't big.
* In Avatar, the mech suits are the same size as Na'vis (around 10-12 feet high.)
* In Pacific Rim 2, Scrapper isn't as big as the other Jaegers.
* In the Mega Man X series, Ride Armors were roughly twice as big as X, Zero or Axl.
* In Xenoblade Chronicles X, Skells look Huge.
* In Metal Gear Solid, the Gears look Gargantuan at best.
* In StarCraft, the Terran Goliath, Protoss Dragoon, Terran Viking, Protoss Stalker and Protoss Immortal don't tower this much.
* In Titanfall, the Titans are around 24 feet high.
