Making a Aether Kineticist based around Raven from Teen Titans worked out abilities and the like for flavor but struggling with items and feats (mostly feats) looked at 2 guides and neither gave (either any options at all or ones that didn’t seem relevant) any help would be awesome starting at level 1 but will progress to 20 so anything is fair game
Are there feats that augment spell-like abilities?
There are such feats. The kineticist is intentionally designed so that they don't work with the blast, but you could use quicken spell-like ability etc. on wild talents.
If you get kinetic blade you need weapon finesse to use it. If not then point blank shot and precise shot are on your must-get list. Weapon focus (kinetic blast), toughness and iron will are feats many kineticists get. Mobile gathering is a new feat I expect many kineticists will get in future.
For your fetchling in particular if you want the spectrum sight feat then you'll need alertness. You can get that directly via a feat or take the elemental whispers power. You may want shadow ghost and/or shadow walker.
Putting those together and assuming you didn't take kinetic blade or elemental whispers, your feats might look like this:
1: Point blank shot
3: Precise shot
5: Alertness
7: Spectrum sight
9: Shadow walker
11: Dimensional assault
13: Dimensional agility
15: Shadow ghost
17: Reach spell-like ability (a 7th level or lower wild talent)
19: Quicken spell-like ability (a 5th level or lower wild talent, or the dimension door SLA)
If you wanted a character who could take a few more hits you might spend less on teleporting and get toughness & iron will - perhaps replace both dimensional feats with those and get mobile gathering in place of shadow ghost.
This is nice but got 2 questions why spectrum sight/how do I use it if I did take it and where does it say that you can’t use spell like ability meta like ability’s on blasts (went looking and didn’t see anything) but also thank you for helping get to this point and that familiar thing is totally getting took especially if there’s a raven as an option
I misread spectrum sight as giving you detect thoughts instead of gaining a new ability when you use detect thoughts. My bad. It still helps if you want to use the read aura occult skill unlock as a full round action rather than a 10 minute action.
Kinetic blast has a spell level equal to half the caster level specifically to prevent ___ spell-like ability feats working with it. Also to let it punch thru globes of invulnerability etc, but the first was the main reason.
Ah missed that part but fully understand why that would be since they put in a way to burn yourself for those abilities but either way this was awesome because I didn’t even realize dimention door was going to be an option and being able to make it quickened is even better
Also the idea of the dimensional feats is great for flavor and mobility also after looking more at the familiar thing I’ve decided against it because it won’t actually have the effect that would be greatly useful
Looking into items now other than a ring of substance I’m seeing much that will greatly aid me
