Alchemist Cognatogen Ability damage

Advice

I've just gotten the cognatogen discovery. It says after I use the cognatogen I take permanent 2 ability damage to the ability score penalized by the cognatogen. And at level 12 with greater cognatogen I'll have 2 ability damage on 2 ability scores.

Resting for 8 hours restores 1 ability point damage.

What is the best way to heal the other 1 ability point damage?

I have lesser restoration but I'd prefer not to waste my precious level 2 extract slots on lesser restoration.

We do have a paladin, and that seems like the best option that i can think of but it does take up his lay on hands slots for the day.

Any plans greatly appreciated

Someone with the Heal skill can use long-term care at a DC 15 to heal 2 ability damage instead of 1 if you rest for 8 hours.

And an alchemist can utilize spell-trigger items if the spell appears on his formulae list, so wands of lesser restoration will be your friend.

Nice advice, thanks.

Does the person that is going to heal me for 2 pts of ability damage have to do anything special? The person on our team who has heal is a witch, so would they still get 8 hours of rest to get their spells for the next day? Not sure how that would work.

'Providing long-term care requires 8 hours of light activity.' - yes, they'd need a separate 8 hours of rest to be able to prepare spells. Or 2 hours with a ring of sustenance.
