Due to the following passage...

Urogs who leave Dykon for long periods sometimes suffer an attenuation of their race’s special abilities, likely due to their changed diet and lack of certain electrical fields normally provided by the moon itself.

...I can understand why they don't get their electrical Discharge or Semiconductive abilities, but they're made of silicon. How on earth would you poison them?

The text even basically says they can't be poisoned. Why isn't this reflected in the PC race? (And please don't say it's for balance; the game still needs to have internal verisimilitude or else there's no hope of suspension of disbelief.)

Speaking as a biochemist, there is no reason to assume a Si-based lifeform couldn't be poisoned. It might require different compounds but maybe not.

Poisons typically interfere with some life-necessary function like cyanide and oxygen binding to hemoglobin. It's feasible that the same chemical properties that make cyanide bind to hemoglobin won't bind to silicon based enzymes and mess them up in some manner.

I will admit this is a stretch but it's the best explanation I can give until we have an actual silicon based lifeform to study. Silicon and carbon are both group 4 atoms, so they have some similar properties.

It says on 117 " This peculiar method of absorbing nutrients also makes them nearly impossible to poison or drug, as their bodies simply discard any unnecessary ingested molecules. "

As a GM I'd place the emphasis on ingested. So they can still be injected with poison or drugs, from say a needle rifle or pain glove or the pharmacy. But trying to spike their wine or salad will accomplish absolutely nothing.

Yup it is not so much that they are immune to poison but that they are not going to get poisoned by eating or drinking things. Given they are kind eating as they move around it would be hard to intentionally try to poison one that way anyway.
