The wording in Ultimate Combat (p78), where style feats was introduced, says that "Although you cannot use a style feat before combat begins, the style you are in persists until you spend a swift action to switch to a different combat style." This would seem to suggest that you cannot be in a fighting style outside of combat.
Imagine trying to keep in a certain fighting stance as you walk through a forest or dungeon for several minutes, rather than the few rounds many combats last. Although a GM could certainly houserule it otherwise (outside of PFS) the feats are written with the assumption they will not be used outside of combat from my reading.

The other issue is that you can't take immediate actions when you are flat-footed. So even if you have Combat Style Master and are able to enter Snapping Turtle Style, unless you have something that prevents you from being flat-footed, you still can't take the immediate action until your first turn in the combat. Note that even Combat Reflexes does not remove the flat-footed condition. It just lets you take AoOs while flat-footed. There are things out there that do prevent you from being flat-footed to start a combat. The Defensive Strategist trait, for example, though that requires worship of Torag.
