Need flying monster / beast

Advice

Alright, I am going to be lazy here, sorry in advance.

I need a couple of flying beast/monster that can damage my player from afar ( around 50 feet )

The party is level 7 right now ( Druid, Ranger , Warrior , Bard and Sorcerer )

Any idea, aside from dragon? I am ok with fly-by attack also.

Restriction : They need to come in pair, so the CR should be between : 5 and 7.
They can't be : Undead , Construct , outsider or plant.

Chimera (tail spikes), Cerebric Cyst (psychic ooze), Frost Drake (misty spit breath weapon), a Lurker Above has 10' Reach, Pterosaur (Quetzalcoatlus) since you say Flyby Attack is ok, Tengu (Yamabushi) with shuriken

Those are all CR 7 monsters that fit the rules you laid out, except that a Frost Drake is in fact a dragon.

You can easily have a pair of these threaten your party. Being that they're individually a CR 7, 2 of them together would be CR 9. Since the party is made up of 4 level 7 PCs assisted by a level 7 NPC classed character I'm certain that while difficult this fight wouldn't be impossible.

If you want pairs of lower CR creatures look at swarms, magical beasts and animals. Also if you're willing to do a bit of work perhaps look at adding extra HD advances or class levels to flying creatures.

Take for example the lowly giant owl. It begins as a CR 5 creature and really doesn't have any of the stuff you're looking for other than flight and the fact that it's a Magical Beast. They do however have a 14 Int and a 17 Wis - imagine giving 2 of them 4 levels of the Adept NPC class?

By my calculations this raises 2 of these creatures to CR 7 each, gives them 3 Burning Hands spells and (with a Bonus Spell) 1 Scorching Ray per day, and each gets a familiar - perhaps an Owl familiar with the Mauler template and the feat Flyby Attack on them?

Also, why do they have to come in pairs of the same creature? How about a mixed pair, or perhaps a flying mount and a rider? Imagine a Frost Drake being ridden by a Kobold Adept 5/Warrior 5. That's still a CR 9 combined fight, represents a dragon-cleric riding an avatar of his god, and you could maybe replace the fire-themed Adept spells with cold-themed ones instead. The kobold could be slinging bullets from long distance while the drake breathes frosty mist, then have the creature wheel to within 15' so that the kobold can unleash a 5d4 Freezing Hands spell or something.

Manticore, chimera and wyvern (technically a dragon) are in this CR range, as well as some more exotic creatures (hieracosphinx, mothman, quetzalcoatlus).

But to make the encounters more interesting and unique, you can also use other use also weaker creatures, if you make them stronger by adding class levels or templates. Also, you can give them any weapon that they are able of using (even if they are not proficient with it).

Examples

  • a pair of harpies (base CR 4) with levels in, for example, fighter. One sings, the other attacks.
  • Large-sized gargoyles (giant template, CR 5) dropping Small-sized rocks on PCs. By the rules, 2d6 damage on a successful ranged touch attack. They probably would be able to carry only one rock at a time, but they may have them stockpiled.

Great! thank!
They needed to come in pair because I wanted a couple with youngling.

Pegasus steeds with archers or lancers riding them. If the party is definitely good, then the riders are bad and have charmed the steeds. Your call whether there's a baby pegasus flying around or if it's an egg carried by one of the mounts in a sling. Or the youngling could be a baby of the rider, riding in a papoose on their back... and also trained in archery.

Another vote for manticores. They can do ranged and melee stuff, and there are even Core Bestiary variants. They have can even combine Flyby Attack with 4 ranged attacks as a standard action. That can set up an interesting encounter with the right terrain features. They also speak Common, so they can taunt and berate the PCs while sniping at them.

Some manticores mate with lions, dire lions, lamia, chimera, or sphinxes. So they can set up another, related, encounter, too.

EDIT:

The manticores with dire lion ancestors have the Advanced template.

Giant, Winged Chupacabras with Improved Grapple as a bonus feat(or by trading out Dodge and Improved Initiative for Improved Unarmed Strike and Improved Grapple) could use Fly-by-Attack to fly off with people and drain their blood.

harpies, chimera and manticore I second them.

anything else and well... either is a dragon or has to be modded and or is restricted to flyby attack( and a wyvern would fall udner flyby, no breath weapon just a poisonous barbed tail and feet)
