You can qualify for feats as long as you can meet the prerequisites for at least 24 hours. The Synthesist can stay bonded to his Eidolon suit for over 24 hours (provided he doesn't sleep), thus he can qualify for any feat his Eidolon can. That said, feats gained this way become inactive when you no longer qualify for them.

Thank you for answering my original question.
So I assume that Summoners and specifically the Summoner Synthesist are banned from Pathfinder Society play. Is that the point everyone is making, or is everyone saying that Paizo is about to over haul the Summoner soon like they did with the Scarred Witch (Con for spellcasting + plus everything else) and Ephemeral Sorcerer (Wis for casting + everything else)?

The summoner was already overhauled with the unchained summoner. I'd like to see an unchained synthesist, that uses something like the polymorph rules, so your physical stats will matter.
By that logic, they have abandoned the barbarian, rogue, and monk as well: they have an unchained version as well.

Ok, thanks. But they never put out new material for an archetype, only for a class. The only time they put out new material for an archetype is if they are revamping the archetype.
They may eventually revamp the Synthesist, but I doubt it.
It was one of the most polarizing archetypes Paizo has ever published.
