Bow and Shuriken proficiency?

How does one get proficiency with the special weapons? I feel like I'm missing something obvious.

Exotic weapon proficiency feat.

At low levels, shuriken are maybe worth a feat. Bows most definitely and certainly are NOT

The feat in question is "Special Weapon Proficiency" pg. 162

Currently. I imagine some future sourcebook will include higher level bows, if only because elves exist, and I can't imagine elves not taking the latest in magical and technological advancement, and using it to make a better bow.
