So I hosted my first ever Starship Society scenario last night. I registered the event online, printed out all of the level 1 pregens, the sign up sheet, the maps, the whole kaboodle. Then I invited several players to the event to try out the new system.
A half dozen people showed up and I ran The Commencement for them. Everyone had a great time, learned a lot about the new system, and thanked me for setting up the event.
However, it turns out that none of the players there cared one lick about Organized Play, and didn't bother to fill out the sign in sheet or chronicle sheets. It seems they just wanted to play the game and try out the new system.
They were absolutely aware of the opportunities offered by organized play and straight up rejected them. Of the six people there, only one of them seemed remotely interested, and he ultimately chose not to sign anything or accept a Society number card, presumably due to peer pressure from the other attendees.
So now I'm at a loss as to what to do. Can I even still claim GM credit for this game?
