Hey, there I'm currently in a Reign of Winter game in which I have died due to poor planning on mine and the rest of my parties part. As such I have to bring a new character to the table we are currently at level six and have the following things at our table:
An unchained spirit summoner with an azata companion(focused on melee) and the Life spirit
A fighter focused on Defenses and Repositioning opponents
A rogue who uses a whip to trip and occasionally attack with it
and finally, a fire kineticist who does what you would expect from one
With a party like that, I'm extremely uncertain as to what to bring to the table and as I've been told by nearly everyone "play what you want to play" but as I currently have zero ideas as to what I would like to play here I am asking you guys for advice.

Curious what your original character was, but Inquisitor or War Priest might fit in if your looking for a switch up between spells and melee with some healing available. Druid might also be interesting for setting. As a fall back though, have you looked at the Players Guide for Reign of Winter? Should be some suggestion in there as well.

My original character was a Winter Witch archetype witch and was about to take the 1st level of the prestige class of the same name.
Edit: I also neglected to mention in my initial post that I'm only allowed a 15 point buy, which does make super MAD characters a bit more difficult.

Well since I was just talking about it somewhere else...
Storm-Spirit Warrior
Theme Music: Judge, Jury and Executioner
Witch Doctor Speaker for the Past Shaman 10/ Unchained Monk 1
Dual Talent Human: 13/15STR, 10DEX, 12CON, 10INT, 16/18WIS, 10CHA
Traits: Fate's Favored, Magical Knack, Wayang Spellhunter: Aura of Doom. Drawback: Power Hungry
Deity: Hei-Feng, the Duke of Thunder
Spirit: Battle
Weapon: 9-Ring Broadsword
1M. (+Improved Unarmed Strike) / (+Stunning Fist) / +Dodge / Power Attack
2S.
3S. *Hex: Battle Master* / Mantis Style
4S. *FCB: Divine Favor*
5S. *Channel Energy* / *Revelation: Spirit Shield* / Channel Smite
6S.
7S. *Revelation: Temporal Celerity* / Guided Hand: 9-Ring Broadsword
8S.
9S. *Enemies' Bane* / *Counter Curse* / (+Weapon Specialization: 9-Ring Broadsword) / Cornugon Stun
10S. *FCB: Aura of Doom*
11S. *Countering Hex* / Persistent Spell
Guided Hand lets you attack with WIS, while Unchained Monk grants Flurry of Blows. So flurry with two-handed 9-ring broadsword strikes with Power Attack and Divine Favor are devastating; throw on Enemies' Bane and things get vaporized. Speaker for the Past also grants Heroism (10min/level), just to toss another +2 attack in there.
Spirit Shield grants a scaling armor bonus when unarmored, and Monk grants WIS to AC when unarmored. So Spirit Shield and high WIS is excellent "armor" that costs nothing. Shaman also gets Barkskin (10min/level), which is even more defense while saving more cash. With nothing but a robe on, you've got AC that would make a Fighter in plate armor happy. Shaman also gets False Life for hours of temporary HP.
Mantis Style grants a +2 to Stunning Fist WIS DC and an extra Stunning Fist per day, while Cornugon Stun lets you use a 9-ring broadsword to throw Stunning Fist. So by 9, you can make 4 extremely strong Stunning Fist attacks per day through your sword. Fits the 'Duke of Thunder' theme perfectly.
All of this is on top of having nearly full high-WIS Shaman spellcasting (and you can pick from the Cleric list too with Favored Class Bonus). By level 10 you can grab Aura of Doom and then make it Persistent by level 11, which grants an incredibly strong fear aura that's 10min/level.

It seems that you currently have no divine caster, and with a 15 point buy I'd suggest a lore oracle. The lore oracle has the sidestep secret revelation making them less MAD by allowing them to apply their cha modifier to their AC and reflex saves, the lunar and nature oracles also have similar revelations and can have animal companions. The lore oracle can be quite good with knowledge skills, the lore keeper revelation lets them apply their cha score to knowledge checks. It also seems that your current party could benefit from this.
For a 15 point buy human lore oracle:
Str 10, Dex 8, Con 14, int 12, wis 10, cha 18 (with a +2 racial)
would be a little tight on carrying capacity, but could have have a good AC with a chain shirt, buckler and charisma to AC. This character would have a good 6 skill points per level and eventually charisma for knowledge checks. In combat this character could use buff spells, summon spells, perhaps some debuff or Save or suck spells. You could also swap str and int for more carrying capacity too.

I made a fun human paladin with 15 points. It's pretty basic, but fun.
14 14(was 13) 12 10 10 16 or 16 12 14(was 13) 10 10 14
1. Fey Foundling
1. Power Attack
3. Extra Lay on Hands
5. Quicken Channel?
For traits, I took Sword Scion (it's a campaign trait from Kingmaker that gives +1 to longswords) and Magical Knack paladin, which made my casting level only -1 not -3.
I used sword and board, but you can definitely go two-handed as well. Lots of healing and staying power.
Prior to that paladin, I played a half-orc inquisitor of Desna that was fun until he was owlbear chow. Took Sacred Tattoo & Apprentice Acolyte or whatever (Bonus Endurance feat).
14 14(was 13) 12 10 16 10
1. Endurance
1. Improved Initiative
3. Power Attack
3. Precise Strike
5. Extra Bane or whatever
6. Bonus Teamwork Feat, varies for now
For traits, I took Reactive (might as well get +11 initiative), and Fate's Favored. It's a pretty good chassis for Warpriest, too, especially with Swift Action divine favor.
I wielded a greataxe, javelins, and the occasional longbow. Pretty much a switch hitter, but mostly melee.
