Am I wrong or is it impossible to by pistol, rifle, 2nd skin, L sword with starting $$.
I get 260+240+250+375=1125
You could change the L Sword for Doshko for this,
260+240+250+240=990
But remember you still have to buy ammo for your weapons and other basic stuff.
You could drop the Doshko for hammer,
260+240+250+95= 845 but if you add in 1 of each ammo you get
845+115=950
Does this seem a bit restrictive to you? Or am I doing something wrong?
Maybe some type of extra bonus for soldier PC that can be spent on weapons only not ammo or other stuff?
Thanks

Well, in the long run, you have very little reason not to, say, grab the cast off weapons of other PCs (or the weapons of NPCs you've defeated) to use a backups. Remember, selling things only nets 10%.
But yeah, you're generally expected to have two weapons at your level at most. More than that is gonna usually be a huge investment for little benefit, especially as level rises.
Also, you can get weapons cheaper than that if you like. Hammer + Needler Pistol + Rifle + Second Skin is only 690. And replacing the Rifle with a Light Reaction Cannon only ups the price to 700.
Really, if you have a rifle (or heavy weapon) and a melee weapon, there's very little mechanical reason to have a pistol, so just skip it. Have your gun and melee weapon and be happy.

Been hearing this Alot well more like waaaa I can't buy a level 2 melee weapon, level 2 gun, and a power armor with only a thousand credits q q. Want Alot of gear buy cheep. My mechanic had the basic kinetic pistol, tactical knife, dart rifle for my drone, and could still get armor and some other basic equipment

I'm more concerned it's difficult to have a sidearm. Even having the weakest pistol costs 25% of your starting wealth.
A Needler is actually only 105, but that aside, you're expected to have a single gun as a starting character, yes. You'll probably get a sidearm of some sort after your first serious fight with humanoid enemies, since most such enemies have sidearms.

but in Society play you don't get to keep said sidearm, yes? Fairly new to Society play so this is a serious question. Thanks!

Also note that you will probably be able to pick up a rifle/pistol from enemies pretty fast and given their resale value is pretty terrible mostly focus on a main weapon/armor and maybe a low end backup or melee weapon. Most opponents especially early on are probably going to have melee weapons or pistols/rifles. They may not be ideal but will help fill you out until you can afford better.

That's correct. You will, however, probably get something on the neighborhood of at least 400 or 500 credits, which is enough to buy one if you so desire.

You don't get to keep them in Organized Play, but you do get enough money to buy your own.

Aye, but it feels like it should be easier to start with a very basic sidearm. Even knocking down the price of the weakest semi-auto a little bit would be a big help.

Looking at weapon prices, it appears that the lvl 1 arms are all in the 1/4 to 1/3 starting wealth. Armor can be had for 1/4-1/2 also. So it's a simple matter of picking 3-4 items you want, juggling a bit to get the costs to fit. Beginning character remember: melee weapon, ranged weapon, armor and a few other items like toy kit, rations and a backpack.

You can pick up the cheapest options pretty easily and not spend too much.
Needler pistol: 105cr
Pulsecaster Rifle: 100cr
knife or hammer: 95cr
Grand total: 300cr
That's not too bad. No you can't have the best in each category, but if you had the funds to do that you'd have other PCs buying a level 3 weapon right out of the gate.
