Hey guys, now i'm interested in some of the 5e rules, thats why i need your help!
5e have a lot of damage types, the most commons are bludgeoning, slashing and piercing. But they also have those:
Acid, Lightning, Necrotic, Radiant, Fire, Force, Cold, Psychic, Thunder and Poison.
My question is, which kind of powers/abilities/class features/spells/features/magic items/and general rules do we have that gives protection/bonus/penalties/advantages/disadvantages/resistances/immunities/ or have some relation with those types of damage? Assume just the 3 core rulebooks.
It's a big question, i know, i just wanted that we put our heads together to work it out.
And thanks!

Off the top of my head, since I don't have time to go through my books right now...
Races: Dwarves gain advantage on saves vs. poison and are resistant to poison damage. Tieflings are resistant to fire. Dragonborn are resistant to the energy type associated with their draconic heritage.
Classes: I think there are a few subclasses that gain resistance to one or more damage types at higher levels?
Spells: This is where you'll find the most variety in damage types. There's at least one iconic spell for every type of damage, plus a cantrip for nearly all of them (though no single class has access to all of those cantrips). There are also spells that make you resistant to poison and energy, and some that resist B/P/S (like Blade Ward).
Magic Items: I don't recall the options here offhand, but I know there are ways to cause many types of damage, and to resist them.
Monsters: Some types of monsters are immune to certain kinds of damage (constructs to psychic and poison, IIRC?). Powerful magical creatures frequently have resistance to B/P/S from nonmagical weapons. And anything that has a non-B/P/S attack will probably be resistant or immune to that type of damage, especially if it's an energy type, like the various flavors of dragon.

The warlock's Fiendish Resilience lets you gain a damage resistance, and you can change it with a short or long resistance.
War clerics get B/P/S resistance at 17th level.
Barbarian rage grants B/P/S, and the Totem Bear's rage grants resistance to all damage types except psychic.
Draconic Sorcerers can spend a Sorcery Point to gain their corresponding resistance.
Stoneskin also grants B/P/S damage resistance. Fireshield can do fire or cold resistance.
