Shopping List: Weapons, armor and milk

So looking at the armor and weapons by level, I want to see what peoples thoughts are the best armor and weapons for ranged and melee builds by level

Level 1: STR melee build: Longsword or Doshko, Hidden Soldier armor

level 1: DEX shooty build: hunting rifle or azimuth laser rifle, or light reaction cannon, second skin armor

STR I would go with the longsword since the unwieldy does not let you take AO or full attack. Unless this is a non issue for you. Armor is fine

DEX personally the Laser rifle since it has longer range and it goes against the lower AC (EAC). Armor is fine

I was hoping though that other people might jump in and throw suggestions for gear per level but I might do some of that when I finish classes today

I'd spring for the Tactical Pike at melee lvl 1, reach is worth another 100cr.

This is going to be a bit of a curve, but starting weapons seem to be able to carry you for a bit, but you need multiples weapons due to resistances. At lvl 7ish heavy weapon outpase longarms, but I am yet to play much of the game

I would go with the tungsten ringed, Ruby studded, ebony battle Club for the low low asking price of 0 credits

Tac Acid dart rifle is my go to, for longarms.

Someone brought up the fact that you can put 'called' on a starknife and have a cheap ranged and melee weapon for a first level soldier.

You can also put returening on it so it doesnt eat up a swift action

But only one or the other not both since it is a level 1 item.

For melee soldiers or solarians this is a better deal than even the cheapest pistols, because of your to hit and damage will be higher.

yeah the star knife is a really good backup weapon for STR builds
Im really glad they made throwing weapons key off of STR in Starfinder

It's good for some range, but certainly has shorter range than most ranged weaponry.
