Devil Imp Improved familiar question

Rules Questions

If my Devil Imp is using a wand of Ill Oman can he remain invisible and use it just before I cast my follow up offensive spell or will it reveal him?

The imp becomes visible right after zapping your foe with the wand.

ahh, that will be a big deciding factor whether or not to go with an Imp then or an Azata or Fairie Dragon.

just to say you can choose an improved familiar whose alignment is only one step away from your own.

saying that because you have an imp L/E azata C/G and fairie dragon who is also C/G as a choice, prefer to warn you just in case.

so if you are C/N, C/G or N/G you can select either the fairie dragon and azata but not the imp, if you are L/N, L/E or N/E you can select the imp but not the two other.

One step on each axis. If you're true neutral, you can pick any of them unless their specific entry states otherwise.

is it not one step only and not two step of the familiar?

Benefit: When choosing a familiar, the creatures listed here are also available to you. You may choose a familiar with an alignment up to one step away on each alignment axis (lawful through chaotic, good through evil).

True neutral is no more than one step away on each axis.

That said, a lot of improved familiars have specific requirements or allowances in their bestiary entry. Check there first.

Awesome my alignment is true neutral

Just a question regarding familiars, I know they use my UMD skill points, if they have a +9 to UMD and I have a +5 would they just add up both for a +14 UMD rating?

nope, it use the best rank, either your own rank or its rank, and then add other modifier, like skill focus, ability modifier and the like.

if you got 9 rank and it got 5 rank, it use your 9 rank in the skill

Ahh, perfect thanks a lot. Will need to get Pragmatic Activator.
