So apparently Flame Dancer / Flame Singer can be stacked

Just curious is this combo any good for our fire bard?

The flame singer/dancer aka Pitbull Fireball I guess:

So what's the verdict?

if anyone's wondering, flame singer is from the elemental master's handbook, which came out in the last week - you're probably gonna have to wait until more ppl have got it - I'll get it in next week and if this hasn't been answered come back

I think Flamedancer is much better than Flamesinger. Flamesinger does give the Fire Music feat for those who like it, but it takes away bardic knowledge and lore master. It also does away with Inspire Courage to give fire damage to the party's weapons... However, I think IC is perhaps the most important part of the Bard's features.

Trading Inspire Courage for flaming just sounds downright terrible.

Might be worth it in something like Reign of Winter, but in general I'd agree.

For background, the author of Flamesinger designed the archetype to stack with Flame Dancer.

well... drat!

I've got two Flame Dancers now, and would need to retrain to add this Archetype in right? anyone know how much the re-training costs could be for ... say a 5th level and an 8th level Flame Dancer to add in flame singer?

Sovereign Court

well the class features start from level 1...so I guess that's a lot of retraining?

5 days per class feature replaced/modified. Total cost = # of days x level x 10gp

I don't have the Flame Singer write up yet(to new), so I was wondering how many class features are replaced/modified at 4th level and at 8th?

But I guess I can just wait till I see it...

I am in agreement that trading away Inspire Courage for a small amount of fire damage on attacks is not a good trade. Considering how many creatures are out there with Fire Resistance 5, which essentially shuts down that entire ability, it's a very bad trade off...

having played Bards in a few scenarios where the NPC bard kicks in Inspire Courage... if you end up as the "back up singer" it would be nice to have something that is not as common. But for the most part - yeah, fire resistance is way to common.

Sovereign Court

Think someone made the math one day, it's probably a little off with the recent bestiaries but cold did appear to be the most common resisted energy or creatures being immune to cold.

But well to be fair, doesn't mean that the monsters with cold resistance are popular at gaming table tho.
