Consecrate spell target?

Rules Questions

Can the 2nd level Cleric/Oracle Spell Consecrate be used to target an item (say, a weapon or a god's fixture item like a relic)? If so will the emanation move with this item. Or is it simply cast at a spot on the floor and not movable?

it must be done in an area, but you can cast it where an altar, shrine or any other permanent fixture of your deity or alignment to make the consecrate stronger or of another deity or alignment to cut off the link with that deity/alignment.

note that you do not cast it on those thing but just in the area they are to boost the effect of consecrate, the same thing applies to desecrate if you cast desecrate instead

Sadly, no, it affects an area. Not necessarily the floor; technically, you should be able to consecrate a 20-foot ball of space in midair.

I see, thanks. It just seemed strange to have that kind of limit due to the length of its duration.

It's good for rituals or ceremonies. For more permanent consecration, consider hallow. I don't know if there's a mobile version somewhere; I don't play very many clerics....
