Identifying items as a fighter

Advice

Hello,

I'm trying to make a fighter that we could call a Weapons Scholar.
I know we can use spellcraft, which is a trained skill, using the detect magic spell to identify magic items. In my case, it would be specifically for weapons.

So, is the only way for my character to be able to identify weapons properties would be to multi class into a caster to be able to use spellcraft?

I'm hoping to find a feat, a trait or anything that could prevent my character from being a Fighter-Wizard and be able to identify weaponry.

Thank you :)

The Appraise skill let's you tell if a weapon is magical, but not what it's properties are. Five ranks in Appraise with the Skill Unlocks will let you make a second check to determine those properties.

Silver Crusade

You can always get 1 Skillrank in Spellcraft and use UMD to make Indentify Wand work.

Or use the Cloak of the hedge Wizard and Pump Spellcraft up.

10 ranks in spellcraft and the signature skill allows you to identify magic items without detect magic, though the DC increases by 10. There are a few traits that lets you cast a 0 level spell once a day, so you can take detect magic and once a day be able to identify weapons. You will also want to take a trait that gives you spellcraft as a class skill.

Nice! Thank you all.

I will ask my DM if he allows Skill Unlocks as it looks like some kind of expansion to the game. If it's ok, I will totally go for appraise with signature skill feat.

Otherwise, I will look for the feats and traits I need to get spellcraft and detect magic.
