Dueling Enchantment (PFS Field Guide) vs Dueling enchantment (the other one) - looking for clarifiation

Rules Questions

So, this is a two-part question. First and foremost, I want to know if this version of the Dueling enchantment is still a valid enchantment, and just a different enchantment with the same name as this version of the Dueling enchantment .

The reason I want to know this is that the two were made within six months of each other, and (at one point) were MAYBE still PFS legal. This isn't for a PFS specific game, but PFS is far more narrow on allowances, so my GM is willing to take them both if they are.

The second part pertains to the first version, specifically more as a question of rules as intended. All of the maneuvers listed have weapons that directly benefit the maneuver listed - trip weapons can be dropped if you flub badly, Dirty Trick has a lot of different things that it could apply to, and the rest all get a +2. The ones called out as exclusions are all items that either can't be USED with a weapon, or which don't get a direct benefit from using a weapon - the Grapple weapon feature gives an automatic grapple, but you still get your -4 to grapple if it doesn't ignore the "two free hands" rule.

Would it be reasonable to make an exception for the dan bong , which DOES add a bonus to grappling?

1) they are two different enchantments that just happen to have the same name, so you can have indeed have a duelling, duelling longsword.

2)Helpful blog, Dan bong should apply it's weapon bonuses to grapple checks, but ultimately your GM is the arbiter of whether or not to permit it.

Dragon, the first part is helpful.

As to the second part, I'm specifically referring to making an exception to the first version of dueling for the Dan Bong, given that it follows the same actual format as all of the CMs that are specifically mentioned as being applicable to the first version. My GM already agrees that any bonuses to a weapon to hit would apply to the dan bong for a grapple. Sorry if I wasn't clear on the second part of my inquiry here.

So, I'm bumping this largely because, while I know Dragonhunterq is pretty spot on, I'd LIKE a few extra opinions, especially on the first part of the inquiry.

PFSG Duelling enhancement explicitly excludes grappling, if you want it to act any other way then you've got to convince your GM to houserule it.
To me it doesn't look even vaguely like a gray area.

As I pointed out, everything it expressly mentions is something that actually has a specific weapon feature that somehow adds value specifically to that combat maneuver. Except for the dan bong, which wasn't actually added until after that enchantment was made, there aren't any like that for Grappling. And, even then, the dan bong doesn't even actually have a named property that does it, it just happens to do it because of the weapon.

Hence why I was asking about a RAI interpretation, as versus a RAW... My reading comprehension is excellent. My ability to interpret what someone else meant when they wrote something six and a half years ago is not.

As you say, it's six+ years, so getting the writer's intent could be difficult. Therefore, I'm inclined to go with what looks like a very clear rule that the bonus doesn't apply to grappling.

There are a couple of weapons with the grapple quality that gives a free grapple attempt on a crit, but I'm not sure that's relevent either:
Garrote
Grappling hook
Harpoon
Kumade
Sibat

Technically, the Garotte shouldn't HAVE the Grappling feature, it's one of the few weapons whose only real purpose is exclusively grappling. But at the same time, all of the other grapple weapons you listed only grapple on crit, and (more importantly) still suffer the -4 for not having both hands free. They CAN do it, but they aren't specially designed for it. But I take your meaning.
