I want to check the FAQs to see if a rules question already has an answer... but I am totally lost as to how to look it up.
can someone give me a set of step-by-step instructions to find something in FAQ?
My question (FAQ) would be: Does an unconscious creature get a Will saving throw? Say if they are the target of a Confusion effect... could it effect them? Or if they are the target of a Bless? Or a Cure spell?
How do I find FAQs on this subject?
(sorry for being an "Old Dude" on this one - but my Tech-Fu is just not up to it on a Monday)

The answer is yes, due to the FAQ that an unconscious person can make a reflex save vs a pit or fireball. Showing that unconscious people make saves still.

First, bookmark the Core FAQs as they're hard to find on the site. Since this question doesn't depend on any other book, that would be the right page.
Then do Control-F and search for a relevant word. "Unconscious" doesn't appear. Searching for "Save" give me:
Reflex Saves: If I’m paralyzed, held, dying, or otherwise completely immobilized or insensate, can I still attempt a Reflex save?
Yes, you can still attempt a Reflex save, but since your Dexterity is set to 0, you’ll have to replace your Dexterity bonus with a –5 penalty, so you’re not likely to succeed. If you do succeed, it might be due to the power of your cloak of resistance, a good angle for cover, or even luck. Either way, follow the rules of the spell for a successful Reflex save, even if this would change your space, like create pit. However, you lose evasion in these circumstances. If you are under the influence of a rare effect that causes you to be immobilized or insensate and allows ongoing Reflex saves to escape the effect, as an exception to the rule, you can use your full Dexterity bonus (instead of a –5 penalty) for the purpose of attempting those ongoing saves only, since your full Dexterity is at work within the confines of the spell, trying to break free.posted Oct 21, 2016
This isn't your exact question, but it does suggest that you always get a saving throw, even when it doesn't make much sense.

but what about Cure spells? do they save vs. them as well?
If I have a Dhampir PC that is unconscious (and bleeding out), do I get a Will save vs. Positive channeling? or how about a Will save vs. the CLW spell the helpful guy uses to Stabilize me? Do I have to take one vs. the Inflict spell the other guy uses to Stabilize me?

The best way to search the FAQs is to use a 'site' search. For example you can search all of the FAQ pages for the word 'cure' by typing this into your browser.

what if they are under a Confusion effect? Does a Player get to make the choice ... if his PC is Confused and/or unconscious.
