official ruling on Abundant Ammo with cartridges?

Silver Crusade

i'm putting together a gunslinger/bard build for PFS and was hoping to use abundant ammunition on paper cartridges, but haven't been able to find a solid ruling on what "alchemical attributes", one of the things added to the list of ammo AA can't affect in a 2015 errata, actually means. i've searched through the forums and found multiple instances from 2016 and later of people talking about using the above combo, in both normal and PFS games, and no one's corrected them apart from in one thread (so far). can anyone help me out?
thanks! :)

Weapon Blanch and Poison immediately springs to mind, but you may encounter table variation with this one. I would just use John Compton's advice and ask your GM before the game how they would rule it.

But you'll probably find out quickly that between action economy and really cheap ammo prices you'll never use Abundant Ammunition anyways. I rarely encountered it before the nerf, never see it now, and have never used it on any of my ranged characters, either (3 of which are Gunslingers).

I've seen it at low levels before the special materials nerf, without access to durable arrows.

The trade-off just isn't worth it when you do the math. What's the economic term? Opportunity cost?

If you're spending 2pp or 750gp on a wand of Abundant Ammunition, you'd have to fire off 125 paper cartridges (6gp/each) while using it just to break even. That's assuming 2 zaps every 3 scenarios and an average of 4 shots a zap.

And that's just the monetary cost. What else could you have done with 50 standard actions, plus the swift or move action to draw the wand? An Improved Familiar can help, but then you've invested feats into the mix (and another set of actions).

As a Bard you can cast the spell, but then you're dedicating a limited resource that could have gone towards buff and utility spells for the party.

And then you could encounter table variation on top of everything else. I just wouldn't advise it.

ok, that makes sense. thanks for the help Nefreet, i'll just go with buying them :)
