Pretty much what you'd expect - communicating with people that aren't in town. I think they've mostly used them to contact Captain Sargaeta, and gave one to Molly Mayapple that I completely forgot about until she showed up in Kintargo unannounced. (Whoops!) Retconned that one into that she totally did, and it's not the GM's fault that she forgot!

I gave the statues the ability to act as a Silver Raven flare (essentially a limited dancing lights spell at will) which means that they tend to use them a lot more and consider them a vital step to a "public op"
I mostly did it as a way of ensuring the statues were a vital part of the revolution rather then an easily forgotten communication device.

My players are very "hush-hush and on the down low", so they use the figurines as a way for people to get in contact with them. They have designated a tree in a small park, where there's an actual (abandoned) bird's nest. If anyone wants to get in contact with the Silver Ravens, they are to drop a note in this nest.
Every morning a player sends off one the figurines to check this nest and to fly back with any messages it finds.
Since they've taken pains to keep their hideout and identities secret, I have let this arrangement continue undisturbed for now. But as things heat up, who knows what nasty flying devil-critters might track the figurine back one day...
