i know they nerfed Arcana deed, making your magus 0 and treated as having no panache points. now i heard on other forums that flamboyant arcana doesn't work because your not considered to have at least 1 point in your panache pool, but isn't that just a rule for arcana deed? in flamboyant arcana it stats that you just use arcana points instead on panache points to use the deed. so it should work right? i rebuilding my swashbuckler into a magus with the parry/riposte,
shame that i can only pick from a few situational deeds with arcana deed. they should have just said no precise strike.

Flamboyant Arcana does not have the line saying you never have any panache, it just makes your arcane pool act like panache. Keep in mind that Flamboyant Arcana only gets you Derring-Do, which doesn't care if you have any panache left, just that you spent one for the bonus d6, and Opportune Party and Riposte, which does check to see if you have any panache to use the counterattack.
Since Flamboyant Arcana doesn't have the line from Arcane Deed, you spend an AoO and 1 arcane point to parry an attack. If you successfully parry and have at least 1 arcane point left after you spent the 1, you get the free riposte.
