My group is going to start Into the Nightmare Rift next week. As I'm preparing this part of the AP, Cadrilkasta's tactics seem to make it difficult to recover the last shard. Her morale makes it she teleports away. No mention that she drops the shard from her claw at any time, even mentioning "holding is tightly in she claw" preventing on of her claw attacks. Did I miss something where she does drop it before retreating? Can't imagine she would since she's being affected by its curse. And if she gets away, the PCs will have to hunt her down? Thanks.
Relatively high level PCs are going to have to learn to deal with enemies who retreat via teleport. Maybe they don't expect it the first time, but next time (hopefully) they'll be ready with the appropriate countermeasures.
