What I'm looking for is fully made statted out characters for each race and class in a vanilla sense (using only hardback books)
So all races as a barbarian with no archetypes at level 1.
All races as a bard with no archetypes at level 1.
All races as a cleric with no archetypes at level 1.
So on and so forth.
I know spell casters can be harder to do because of class features such as wizard schools, sorcerer bloodlines, and oracle mysteries for example. I'm really just curious if they exist. I would like to see how each race approaches each class in a general sense.I know something's will be rarer than other's (gnome barbarian vs. a half-orc barbarian)
I don't think most of the ACG would be relative except say swashbuckler maybe?
I'm thinking of this as an exercise to open up options for players familiar with a fantasy setting but not necessarily with pathfinder.
Say someone really wants to play a half-orc barbarian but don't have time to build it or a gnome wizard, a halfling rogue, these are iconic of the genre but not of pathfinder. Some might say play an iconic, I just would like to give options to more informed potential players rather than saying "you wanna play a ranger? No you really don't..."

This is a really intriguing project, actually. You should edit your post with a Spoiler list of what you need, and then people can post each one for you. You could then edit it and put a strikethrough on the ones that have been made.
If I find the time myself, I might make a couple of these (or get my girlfriend to make them, since she's starting to really like making a bunch of characters for practice).
Which books specifically would you like to be allowed in this?

![]() ![]() ![]() |
The basic line, so core, APG, the ultimate line,ACG, ARG, Bestiaries for AC and familiars and adventurer's handbook. Nothing from player companions, campaign setting books (except maybe Inner sea world guide) or APs. Trying to keep it somewhat simple.
I'm on my phone now so it's difficult to do edits but maybe when I get home.
If anyone does decide to take part in this try to keep the mindset of the race in play when making a character, so an Elven fighter should probably be an archer, finesse fighter, or switch hitter doing both. A gnome barbarian might be heavily into intimidating enemies, not sure on this one myself but they do get a bonus to charisma.

Also is there a way to edit a post after an hour?

Only moderators can edit a post after an hour, so you won't be able to strikethrough. Also, this forum is for Pathfinder Society Roleplaying Guild. These won't be legal Pregens for the Society, but could be useful guides for people building characters in the future.
This site has a lot of guidance for building Pathfinder Characters and some pre-built ones as well.

"Pregen" is actually a trademarked term. I learned this when I crafted versions of the Iconics from the APG, before the real ones were released.
And it's understandable. When someone says "Pregen", Paizo wants to make sure that the term is universally understood.
This is good to know. just call them "freegens”. free to all!

You can make as many as you like and use them, as long as you only use them at lvl1. Making pregenerated characters for any other level does not work, but lvl 1 is fine.
Doesn't Ravingdork or someone have a "Character Emporium" of all race/class combos? I remember it being popular years back.
Yeah, its still around somewhere.

One other thing to consider is this, that since you must own the resources you're playing with, and new players aren't likely to own other books in the Core lineup (like the APG), that even a level 1 "Freegen" may still be illegal.
That's another benefit of using Pregens. You don't need to own those sources.

I realise it's somewhat dated by now, but there's always this set of CRB-only 1st-level PCs, created by Shisumo.

At one point you say all the hardcovers, but here you only list some of them. Let's get down to the specifics and try to clean up the list a bit.
While it's a softcover, I'd also add the Pathfinder Society Field Guide.
So, everything in the above books then except Archetypes, right?
Ok, take each of the above and cross with each of the below.
That gives 615 legal combinations. This project could take a while.
I would say Archetypes should be allowed, since everything else is and some races have very specific variants on the base classes.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I don't know - I'd think you'd want to have multiple variants for each race/class combination. If I want to play a human fighter, what happens if I'm not happy with the single choice somebody else decided on (ranged or melee? What kind of weapons, if any? Heavy or light armour? Shield?)
I'd be very surprised if we ended up with less than 3000 choices, and even then there'd be as many again that were equally viable.

If you dig around somewhere in the big bad world of the internet, I think you can find the APG versions I did too.

That's awesome. I did some hunting and it seems like most of the links out there for it are dead. I also don't have access to the Yahoo group where it was originally posted.

Core book statblocks
Advanced Players Guide statblocks
And here they are. A couple caveats here:
First and most importantly, these are not pregens in the sense that Paizo uses the term. You cannot play one of these characters in lieu of one of your own. They aren't even really characters, frankly; they're just statblocks without names or history or even a real concept that's visible on the page. The purpose they are meant to serve is to allow someone to have a campaign-legal build they can start from when making their own character.
Second, when I made them, they were campaign legal within the bounds of PFS' specific requirements and campaign rulings. I don't think anything has really changed in a way that would matter to these characters, but don't be surprised if there's some weirdness cropping up. Your mileage may vary, don't take my word for it, do your own math.
And have fun!

I think the goal of the project is to have a packet, where people can say "I want to play a [race] [class] and then we give them the sheet. Because of retraining rules, anything in this packet an be used by anyone at level one, in lieu of your own.
We would however, have to scrap the Summoner blocks from your APG set, as that is not available any more. They're probably still a good starting point for Unchained Summoners though.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

This is an intriguing idea that has surfaced a few times - I used Shisumo's stat blocks extensively for new players. (Not the APG ones, since by definition all of those characters are illegal until the player owns the APG.)
I think the key of a pregen or freegen (great term!) is that it gets the player into the game quickly. With the level one free rebuild now available, it doesn't matter if I don't like the weapon or build chosen, for my first game that I showed up to without preparation... I can change it before next game. Too much hand-holding can lead to bad habits.
This does, however, get away from the existing pregen death rules since these are not pregens, just quick-start stat blocks to base your own PC on. Thanks again, Shisumo, for making these!

Except you couldn't hand a Level 1 Unchained Summoner "packet" to a new player, unless they already owned the Bestiary, Pathfinder Unchained and whatever else was included outside of the CRB.
(Not the APG ones, since by definition all of those characters are illegal until the player owns the APG.)
Yeah, this bit here is actually a large part of why I never carried the project further than the APG - I remember making a few drafts of the magus, and being frustrated by not wanting to use anything outside Ultimate Magic and the core for them. (The idea was that you could use the character builds with just the core and whatever book they came out of.)
