Mostly Human and Monk Capstone

Rules Questions

Does the Mostly Human alternate racial trait available to races like Oread, Sylph, Ifrit, etc. still allow you to be considered a human if you have a level 20 monk with the Perfect Self ability?

Perfect Self
...He is forevermore treated as an outsider rather than as a humanoid (or whatever the monk’s creature type was) for the purpose of spells and magical effects....

Mostly Human
...they count as humanoid (human) as well as outsider (native) for all purposes (such as humanoid-affecting spells such as charm person or enlarge person)...

Thoughts?

Perfect Self replaces whatever it was (in this case Humanoid(Human) and Outsider(native)) with outsider.

If Mostly Human just let you treat your type as humanoid(human) it might would still work, but since mostly human specifically says "This ability alters the geniekin’s type, subtype" it is pretty clear that the description of what it does is purely explanatory, as all the 'count as' stuff flows from actually having the type and subtype altered.

I wouldn't think so. Perfect self says you are treated as an outsider, instead of whatever you were. You've transcended your previous type which in the case of Mostly Human was (human/outsider) and are now purely an outsider. But I suspect that this is a GM decides question.

For the most part, I agree that Mostly human changes your type to be both Outsider(Native) and Human)Humanoid. The question for me comes in how to apply perfect self. It says the character is forever more treated as an outsider instead of a human, but in this case the character already is an outsider that has a second type of human.

Simple answer would be to treat it as changing your second type to native(outsider) when it comes to spell that affect humans, but then well the character already is that.

(or whatever it was) pretty much means that any and every type gone and you are just an outsider now.

Seeing as I have no other reason or argument, I suppose that is the most logical interpretation. Thanks for the insight both of you.
