Brawler for RotRL: FCB to take?

Advice

Hi,

I've got a half-orc Mutagenic Mauler I'm playing in a RotRL game. He's built to mix punching guys using Outslug Style with some grappling. If I pick up the human FCB (+1 CMD to two maneuvers of my choice), I figure one of the two I pick should be grapple every time (turn oneself into a black hole for escape checks), but I'm undecided on the other. Are there any combat maneuvers used by foes in the AP that I'll really want to avoid?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Ghorrin Redblade

Sovereign Court

My guess would be Trip, because Grab and Trip are by far the most common baked-into-monster maneuvers.

Grapple for sure.

Since you are using unarmed you don't need defense against disarm.

Dirty trick, reposition don't come up in this AP.

Not much combat manuvers in this AP other than the occasional grab.

Trip might be the best 2nd choice along side bullrush. But most the enemies are big hitters who smack the heck out of you.

I recommend the fear big game hunter at levels 8+.

In addition to trip and bull rush, after a quick perusal of the giants on d20pfsrd, I'm thinking overrun might also be a good choice.

(Giants are a prominent thing in this AP, right?)

Thanks to both of you for the suggestions.

There's a monster that causes all the f&~@ing deaths in this AP and you will want to have CMD vs. grapple for that guy.

Fair nuff. I'll also make those two my first two choices in the Brawler's Maneuver Training.

Just remember our adage, Wilhem: unarmed sucks, go for a cestus.

Thought about it. I know the pluses of a cestus, but I just like punching stuff. /shrug
