Why are the Squire archetypes banned from PFS?

Knights of the Inner Sea, page 20-21. I like the Weapon Bearer Squire archetype for the Fighter, but I can't play it because it is banned. Not clear why it is banned. Was it problematic in the past, or I am just the first to want to play one?

Says (in the book, not the link) any character that qualifies can take the squire archetypes, so it is a player option, even if it means being a subserviant fighter. Was thinking you'd designate another Player as your Knight, each session. Logic would be to take only a couple levels of this class, and use it to multi-class into something else. A very team-player oriented archetype which looks well designed for PFS.

1st level ability allows me to retrieve items from my pack, then have my designated knight be able to grab them as a move action that doesn't provoke. A great way to get potions, scrolls, or other non-quick drawn items into play in a quick manner. Also allows me to pick up items my knight has dropped, as an immdiate action, which frees up their actions further.

2nd level ability allows me to apply a weapon blanch as a standard action. With the above, this means I can apply the weapon blanch, and then have my knight grab it and attack, all in the same round. Also allows me to "sharpen" weapons so their next swing grants a minor bonus.

3rd level ability just allows me to remove the broken condition from weapons, in a temporary capacity, as a full round action. Nothing amazing, but very useful when it comes up.

And that's the whole archetype, with further levels just being that of a normal fighter.

Archetype is focused on maximizing the action economy of another player, but for a team of Pathfinders, being able to do this is very practical.

Dark Archive

Well my best guess would be the whole designating another party member as your knight every session. Maybe it was meant to be permanent and that didn't fit with PFS goals? Really though it is a FIGHTER archetype so it can't break the game.

Looking at the first-level ability, I'm guessing it's just way too dippable. Especially since it doesn't even get any special abilities past third level, so there's no specific reason to take more than three levels of it.

Plenty of very dippable fighter archetypes are completely PFS legal. Look at the Titan Fighter archetype - really hard to justify taking additional levels in Titan Fighter, beyond 1st, with that archetype, but the first level dip is amazing.

It looked too spooky to someone and was banned. Emotional response.
