Multiclassing for healing

Advice

Hello, this is my first post and I was unsure where else to ask this. Ok. So. The game I'm playing now is my first ever pathfinder game. We are playing the reign of winter campaign. It's me, and three other people all of which have at least one other pathfinder game under their belt. And the DM who has been doing this for years. Im playing a magus, we have a cleric, a hunter and a fighter. The cleric and I just hit level three. So far we have had four PCs die, two of which were brought back cause DM interference and the fact that half the party worshipped Sarenrae. My question is this: how can I get more healing capabilities? I've been bouncing around doing a multiclass. Maybe into Warpriest, as at this low a level I could greatly benefit from the healing capabilities and not experience a huge amount of issue with spell progression from the fact that I only have a few levels in a different class. The way I've worked it out in my head is that for my character, multiclassing into a divine spell caster would be best from level 4 or 7, cause then I can get either more of the second class, or get the broad study arcana and medium armor, then also get heals and variety. My magus stats currently are 16,10,14,14,14,6 (STR-CHA). I'm a coldborn. I was just curious what others thought. Cause frankly we are getting our s%!$ wrecked and more heals would be great. But I also want to be melee competent still. So I didn't want to go more deep into a casting primary class.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Both the Hunter and Cleric should be providing the heals since both get access to the healing spells the party needs. The real issue is why are you guys getting stomped on? It could be the GM is overestimating your abilities. I'm seeing from a class stand point a strong party. Clerics can go tank melee specialist almost as well as a fighter. The Hunter should have an animal companion to provide some more combat ability.

Worst case get a wand of infernal healing. A do really hurts the class.

Do not multiclass away from magus or your just gonna be worst off. Loss of BaB, Loss of spell progression. Best choice is a reroll as magus is a terrible class to multiclass out of. But what I am seeing is you have no control in the party. Nothing reducing incoming damage and your feeling it with PC deaths left and right. You have a Arm and 3 hammers.

If a Hammer dies the best thing to roll would be something to control the battlefield with. A magus can be built for control with the Hexcrafter Archetype getting Hexes like slumber but your GM may not allow you to change to the archetype.

But I do not believe any added healing will help but only eat more and more resources and take longer to end a fight.
