Faster Than Light has a couple of good tunes that've worked well for me so far.
I like how that game's OST has alternate layered versions of each song for exploration and combat scenes. If I could ever figure out how to pull off that trick in a music player, I'd consider using it in a homegame.
Edit: While the overall OST doesn't match the genre, My Hero Academia has a few great tracks that are hype enough to fit in a whole bunch of things, Starfinder included.

For slow, inobtrusive background atmospherics, I'm a fan of Brian Eno, especially the music he did on the "Apollo" soundtrack (for a feature length documentary about the space program).
For a more orchestral sound, I've used the CD soundtrack from the LucasArts game "The Dig" in more than one RPG. Good mix of slow and fast paced tracks.

I know it's a bump but I was trawling around youtube for music to set scenes for Dead Sounds Book One and I had a lot of success with:
New Shadowrun games soundtrack
Deus Ex games
Invisible Inc soundtrack.
Mirror's Edge soundtrack.
Voltron Legendary Defenders Soundtrack
Some of these are mentioned already. But there's also this dude:

Seems to spit out movie quality soundtracks on an hourly basis. At least that's what it feels like. And all usefully titled too! Suspensful music! Chase Music! Sad Music!

I believe music really helps set the mode and gets players invested in a particular scene. Soundtracks I continuous refer back to for sci-fi settings like Shadowrun/Starfinder are songs made by the band Infected Mushroom.
Songs like: Cities of the future, Becoming Insane, Bust a move, Saeed, Psycho and really the list goes on. They start slow but the build up conveys tension.
Side Note: Want some really Good bar/club scenes music use Parov Stelar. Songs like Booty Swing, Catgroove, and Clap Your Hands. These are electro swing songs and every time I put it on someone asks what it is. Then they say it reminds them of any bar scene in the StarWars movies.

Seconding (thirding?) that FTL: Faster Than Light has a fantastic soundtrack.
Check this out for an exploration theme.

For ambient/enviromental music, I like the stellaris soundtrack. Here a few of my favorites.
-Synthetic God Triune theme anyone?
-Dragon Breath A great theme for an advanced city/station that is ahead of the technological average.
-Battle for Supremacy The perfect kind of track for an inciting incident.
For general combat music, I love using the XCOM 2 Soundtrack.
-Combat 1 Tense, heroic and bombastic.
-ADVENT Combat 2 Tense and dire, like a grueling battle.
Also, since the FTL soundtrack is cited here, you guys know the composer Ben Prunty has a whole repertoire to pick from beyond FTL?
-Too Class Tense and dramatic to convey a sense of building urgency and direness.
-Dark Flow Battle Ethereal and advanced, great for high level mystics and technomancers.
-Color Sky It's hard to describe. It's like a building sense of urgency that quiets down and exploded into upbeat and triumph.
I also have many others that come to mind, but I spammed enough links as it is.
