non-elemental breath weapons apply to Damage Reduction?

Rules Questions

The Astral Dragon Dragon Disciple has a bludgeoning Breath Weapon 60 ft line, if I come across a creature with damage reduction other than bludgeoning does it apply against my breath weapon?

Yes, of course.

But isn't it a supernatural effect?

Doesn't matter. It is bludgeoning damage. It interacts with every element of the rules as such.

1. Is there an expanded list that includes astral dragons? I couldn't find one.

2. Astral dragons do force damage not bludgeoning damage.

3. As dragonhunterq said, if you do bludgeoning damage it is subject to non-bludgeoning DR.

Would you say Prehensile Hair is immune to DR?

...

You can find the expanded Bloodline list here. They are from Legacy of Dragons. The Astral Dragon Bloodline does deal Bludgeoning damage. I'm sure that force damage was deemed too powerful.

Okay I see. What about untyped damage that comes from a supernatural source? i've only seen one example of it in a 3rd party book but how would that be handled?

Damage reduction does not negate touch attacks, energy damage dealt along with an attack, or energy drains. Nor does it affect poisons or diseases delivered by inhalation, ingestion, or contact.

Spells, spell-like abilities, and energy attacks (even nonmagical fire) ignore damage reduction.

Anything not listed above is subject to DR, regardless of the source.
