How does the HD advancement using Summon Guardian Spirit work on Tidepool Dragons and Faerie Dragons since they are casters?

Bump. Also, does anyone know if any familiar summoned this way should get size adjustments?
Faerie dragons as familiars don't gain spellcasting/size when they gain virtual HD as the master's level goes up. As far as I've heard, anyway. Without anything explicit I'd assume the same for real HD.
The caster level of their spell-like abilities will go up as listed in the template though.
