Sacred Huntsmaster Inquisitor questions on Animal Focus ability

Rules Questions

I've got a Hunter already and I'm thinking of grabbing a few levels of Sacred Huntsmaster for the juicy bits and story wise it kinda fits into the campaign.

My question is would the Hunters Animal Focus ability stack with the Sacred Huntsmasters Animal Focus? It says that it acts the same, and I think it would, but I'm not thinking that the Inquistors ability would work with my pet.

You'd have to separate abilities since they don't say they stack for levels.

The Sacred Huntsmaster's Animal Focus ability says:
"This ability works as the hunter's animal focus class feature, with her Inquisitor level serving as her hunter level."

So if you were 5 levels Hunter and 5 levels Inquisitor/Sacred Huntsmaster and Inquisitor levels treated as Hunter levels, your level to determine your Animal Focus ability would be 10.

I think Chess Pawn's interpretation is more strictly accurate. Typically, such abilities say they combine if they are supposed to.

Example:

Ninja Ki Pool: "If the ninja possesses levels in another class that grants points to a ki pool, ninja levels stack with the levels of that class to determine the total number of ki points in the combined pool, but only one ability score modifier is added to the total."

That being said, I don't think it breaks much of anything to have the Animal Focus stack, and allowing them to stack makes for far simpler book keeping.

if you were 5 levels Hunter and 5 levels Inquisitor/Sacred Huntsmaster and Inquisitor levels treated as Hunter levels for it's animal focus so you'd have 2 animal focus both at hunter level 5.

This is just how channeling works. cleric 5 paladin 5 (which counts as a cleric equal to his level for channel) has 2 channel both at cleric 5.
