So in Path of the Hellknight, the Order of the Gate has a Signifier by the name of Ariotol the Listener.
He's a LN male psychic 10/ Hellknight signifier 4.
My Question is: How?
To qualify for Hellknight Signifier you need either Arcane Armor Training (which is useless for a psychic caster) or Warrior Priest (which you need to have either domains or mysteries to qualify for).
By current RAW a psychic could simply take Arcane Armor Training and sit on a wasted feat...and a wasted prestige class ability, but outside of multiclassing that seems to be the only way into it.
So, how do the psychic magic users of the Inner Sea become Signifiers?

Prestige classes tend to exist as a part of the flavor. Other ways to be a Hellknight involve things like Vanities in PFS that are harder to represent in a tl;dr stat line.
Plus, the initial 'wow' factor of seeing a Psychic/Hellknight did a pretty good job for catching my interest. I assume it will be the same for others. Really, the whole list of notable Gate members in the Hellknight book was pretty great.

They exist for the flavor definitely, and often times are mechanically worse than just staying single classed.
As you mention, if PFS there are vanities to represent ties with the Hellknights.
In home games, you can go through the rituals to be a Hellknight (slaying a devil in 1 v 1 combat) and go through the initiation rites without needing to take a level in the prestige class.

I wouldn't read too much into things from a random NPC's stat line. It could have the somewhat unusual explanations given above, or it could just be an honest mistake. Remembering the prerequisites for prestige classes isn't always easy, and stat lines can't be tested in the same way a full stat block could be through HeroLabs or something similar . . .

It'd be nice if there was a feat somewhere that was useful for psychics that counted as arcane armor training.
Psychics don't suffer penalties to casting spells when wearing armor. Heck, if it wasn't for the nonproficiency penalty to Initiative rolles, it would be a fool's game to not run around in full plate all the time.
