Animal Companions anything goes

i just last my companion but after that we complied a quest that has a large druid group and there going to help me get any animal i want any ideas

A roc is the best flyer, a big cat, warcat or deinonychus has pounce and a bunch of attacks, an ankylosaurus gets to daze their enemies.

What level are you and what do you want out of your animal companion?

im a level 6 ranger with a archer build i dont really know were only a party of 3 a bard/fighter, cleric and myself

Zero flying ability in the group? I'd go for a roc.

My top choice for flyer is Yolubilis Heron. I like it because it is much tougher than the Roc.
