Advice

I have an NPC joining the party for a few sessions. She will be a ranged character focusing on the bow. I don't want her to take away the spotlight from the players, so I'm looking to make her into something of an annoyance for the enemies.

She will be a gestalt Fighter (Archer) // Slayer (Sniper). I'm going to use Trick Shot for disarm, and as soon as she hits level 11 (9 right now) she will take trip as well.

Are there any other feats or options anyone can suggest for messing with enemies from range?

Basically anything that I can do to make it easier for the other party members to defeat an enemy besides damage?

Thank you in advance.

Well, I don't know how sold you are on the Fighter / Slayer gestalt combo...but if you are looking for ways to "mess" with enemies from range you might want to take a look at the Grenadier archetype for Alchemist. Can use your discoveries to apply debuffs to your bomb damage that you can fire with your arrow.

Add in the Infusion discovery and then you can be a party buff-bot by handing out your extracts. Barkskin for everyone!!

If you are sold on your above choice of classes than I must turn you over to the professionals on this messageboard as they will be much better suited to help you. Im just particularly fond of alchemists...and the opportunity to play a gestalt alchemist? Forget it, Im sold!

Thanks for the tips Krell. I'm not set on the classes, but It's an NPC from an adventure path, so I don't want to change too much. She is essentially a ranger focused on bows.

May I recommend the Toxophilite ranger archetype. It has some interesting things to do other than full attack so it won't steal as much stoplight

if you don't want to steal the focus from the PCs, changing them to be more powerful will tend to do that, the NPCs are generally geared to be the same power lvl as the PCs, but less optimised (less than useful feats, wonky ability scores etc.)

Consider taking an archetype like tactician fighter or vanguard slayer to share teamwork feats like Target of Opportunity or Friendly Fire. Giving your players free attacks should keep the spotlight where it belongs.

Thanks Avoron. Sounds like what I am looking for.
