Casting spells while holding a 2-Handed Weapon

Rules Questions

I wanted to make a Warpriest of Gorum and was wondering two things.
1.) Can a spell be cast using only one hand?
2.) If so, can a two-handed weapon that is currently being held by said Warpriest be held/carried with only one hand while a free hand is being used to cast a spell?

I apologize if this question has been asked before but I couldn't find it in the FAQ's.

Yes and yes. It's a free action to remove your hand from a two-handed weapon and a free action to replace it.

Thank you for the clarification!

Lorewalker is correct.

If this were not the case the standard staff carrying wizard would be in trouble...

Staff wielding wizards are in trouble anyways because they can't use metamagic rods without still spell/eschew material components.

And because their staff can be stolen/disarmed making it very difficult for them to cast spells.

Oh, I'm not saying a bonded staff is a good idea, just that the concept of the staff being a "wizard's" weapon requires the free action let go and regrab rule to function.

That is true.

The bonded item rules could really use a revisiting.

Sneaking in off-topic: Just removing that stupid concentration check requirement when not having your bonded object makes it a much more attractive option.
