I am currently running an epic fantasy home game. My players have slain the "big bad" of my last story arc and are feeling pretty invincible. ThuS I feel the need to take them down a notch.
Their next objective is to travel across the seas and I see this to be a great oppertunity for a small pirate adventure. The Captain of which is a sentient roiling oil with levels in rogue. (Using both the scout and pirate archetypes)
Roiling Oils cause nausea and do fire damage so I need some pirare crewman that would be immune or have resistance against such attacks. Constructs come to mind at fist, but would enjoy something more... lifelike.
Suggestions?

Make the captain a mythic monster, then give him the split and regeneration universal monster abilities (since mythic let's you poach monster abilities rather than adding mythic abilities). That way he can crew the ship with numerous copies of himself. :-D

Draugr are intelligent and plenty lifelike. Still, your game. There are a lot of outsiders with immunity to poison (and therefore the oil's nausea) and resistance to fire, but hard to see a bunch of them crewing a ship for a sentient ooze. Sounds like that elemental template might be the way to go for you.

Mmh Pirate Adventure you said? Ahhrrrr!
I would not recommend, to play against your players.
No need to worry. The first encounter they have with this pirate crew is meerly to show them there are bigger fish in the sea. (har har) I want them on yhe brink of death with a destroyed ship. A little wounded pride, if you will.
They will need to find ways to overcome this challenge when it returns to confront them a second time. (Possibly after they level a few times.)

With a bit of multiclassing, you can get your Fort Save very high in a few levels.
There is a mundane item, a Filter Hood, that grants a +2 on Saves vs. gas effects.
Alchemists gain extra resistance and then Immunity to poisons, is that Nausea a Poison effect? Maybe your pirates could be causing Nausea through some kind of Poison.
I seem to recall there are one or more Alchemal Items that grant relief or bonuses against nausea, poisons, and stuff. Perhaps the highest level person amongst the pirates can be an Alchemist who is creating noxious clouds and also chemical protective gear to the crew.

Half-Orcs can get a +2 save vs. Nausea as part of the Squalid Alternative Racial Trait. Or a +1 on all saves.
Dwarves get a +2 save vs. Poison.
Both Dwarves and Half-Orcs (and Orcs) can take the Ironguts Feat: +2 Racial Bonus save vs. Nausea.
Goblins can take the Eat Anything Racial Trait: +4 on Saves vs Nauseated Condition.
Tieflings and Ifrits get Fire Resistance 5
