Fey as cohorts

Rules Questions

Is there a way to recruit a fey as a cohort or something similar?

Monstrous companion perhaps?

Gives access to some magical beasts only.

What I'm thinking is that Leadership doesn't say that the cohort (or followers) have to be humanoids with no racial HD. Even more it says

So If I was the GM, I'd allow it, though I'd count racial HD as levels for the purpose of determining if it can be recruited or not. What I'd like to know, is if there's an official ruling supporting this.

I'd allow to take any kind of cohort with Leadership as long it meets the HD requisites and makes sense in the story.
I don't see any restrictions on the feat that wouldn't allow it.

Open bestiary 1/2/4/5, go to the monster cohorts section, find the various fey on the lists.

I see. So their effective cohort level is different to HD. Thanks.
