Narrow frame feat for animal companion

Rise of the Runelords

In the dungeons or elsewhere, is the feat Narrowframe for my dinosaur worth it? I am feat starved so I would rather not take this feat unless it is necessary in certain places in this campaign. Will I get enough use out of this feat to warrant it?

Without going into too many spoilers, Narrow Frame wouldn't be useful to you until 7th level, when the Tyrannosaurus goes from Medium to Large sized. That would either be very late Book 2, or early Book 3. Either way, there are spots in the remainder where it would be difficult to take a Large animal through, but not as many as you might expect.

In general, you might be able to get away with it, as long as you're OK with the dinosaur squeezing through some spots.

Also, for what it's worth your animal companion needs to take the feat, not you.

What feats are you planning for your companion that you can't fit it in?

I could understand not having room on your character, but your character doesn't need it.

I plan on taking vital strike, toughness, improved share spells, improved vital strike, outflank, power attack, cleave, ferocious focus, improved natural attack and a couple other desirable ones. But as you can see I can't even have all the ones listed, there are just too many.

I wouldn't bother with cleave.

Vital Strike is good for a t-rex. Toughness is okay, animal companions tend to have decent hp thanks to decent con. And while from an RP perspective you don't want them to die, its just a slight inconvenience most of the time to res them.
