I was positive for the longest time that exchanging your past selected Favored Class Bonus for a different type was one of the options of retraining. I'd planned to avail multiple of my characters of the option when the time was right. Was that really never an option??? What was I thinking of if not?
Retrain to a class with synergy that you do not get FCB for, then retrain back to the original class. Expensive, but if you really want it that should do it.
