Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion


So I have a question... obviously lol. I am a well experienced GM but something I've never done I kinda wanna do. I'm gonna take a well balanced party of 5 pcs lvl 10 and lock them in A mine. Mining shadow steel. I want to strip them of equipment and spells to start . Let them improve weapons ( basically there shackles a pick a broken stool what ever they can get there hands on) I plan on giving then various items as the progress. Via the various taskmasters maybe shivs made by fellow prisoners. They will get there gear back before the culmination. Spells I am going to use noqual neck chokers that will be in proto type so I'm thinking a character lvl ck DC 20 + casted spell lvl . All that said what Cr should monsters be at to start. I'm thinking goblins at first and improve from there but any suggestions?

goblins will be trivial, but perhaps a fine start. I'd start with the jailers.


Mining tools are pretty good improvised weapons, pick, sledge, even a shovel. This set up would make a monk, brawler or any natural attack build the king of the party.


Lucky for me there isn't a natural attack class lol. Un lucky for them. Yeah I mean once the escape starts it will ramp up fast to full gear. But there will be some encounters I was thinking goblin to mephits to ogres. The min is run by a dwarven gunslinger slaver that trades body's for minerals when his slave supply get low
