So I have a question... obviously lol. I am a well experienced GM but something I've never done I kinda wanna do. I'm gonna take a well balanced party of 5 pcs lvl 10 and lock them in A mine. Mining shadow steel. I want to strip them of equipment and spells to start . Let them improve weapons ( basically there shackles a pick a broken stool what ever they can get there hands on) I plan on giving then various items as the progress. Via the various taskmasters maybe shivs made by fellow prisoners. They will get there gear back before the culmination. Spells I am going to use noqual neck chokers that will be in proto type so I'm thinking a character lvl ck DC 20 + casted spell lvl . All that said what Cr should monsters be at to start. I'm thinking goblins at first and improve from there but any suggestions?

IMO as a gm i would let it fly.. however being that it would increase the power of the given wizard. Seeing as u could toss a fireball every round on your turn as well as cast a lightning bolt. i would make the dc to craft the wand higher... probably +5 and increase the cost to make by 50%. Also i may allow the increased cost to be negated to have the wand only do 1/2 effect (ie. a lvl 10 pixie wand of fireballs would only do 5d6 instead of 10 with a -2 to save DC) Both of thoes ideas would be acceptqble to me. however the group i play with would probably never think to do this.

i guess ultimately how would u decide a ability is too powerful. would spawning a replication every round that had the full hp but only half dmg be too much?

Nyarlathotep is a full on god in Golarion. He would be much tougher than CR 23.

oh my i missed this page in my research. Thank you! However I can change the name I wanna keep it Egyptian clearly. So I guess just toss the name out and insert a name here. It does not change the concept for the villan tho. Perhaps he will be a "Avatar" of him

perhaps this is posted some where but in all honesty i am kinda stuck...here is my issue:

I recently finished the second darkness path it was awesome how ever i wanna continue with the PC's in a story arc that goes beyond allhevrahs plot. My idea is to use
Nyarlathotep as a great old one. Now I'm not gonna use its whole tenticle raping monsters idea... Or I may to some degree but to me I picture him as pharroh wandering the stars awaiting the day he can return to reality to claim his proper place over his father (he is after all one of the spawn of cthulu). Now the plot of second darkness involves the second coming of a starfall event. In my world the PC's actually kinda failed and didn't prevent the spell from being completed but did manage to destroy most of the seals. The asteroid came and it exploded doing no major damage. But off of this I wanna twist a plot where Nyarlathotep actually manipulated Abraxxis (being only a minor demon lord) to call the star on which he rode and returned to Golarion.

Ok so there is the idea. I have alot to flesh out in the middle still and i have alot of ideas to do that. My issue is how would I go about creating the old one and not making him a party killer. One ability I pondered is a slowing aura. Maybe not like a slow spell but i was thinking a -8 to initiative for all within 120' the big ability is to spawn a replication of 1 random party member per round this image only does 50% from any source and is a perfect image down to the items (I'm prolly gonna photocopy the PC's for this fight). I just don't know what is too much I'm thinking CR 23 ish with the normal old one rules immortal death throws ect. I guess i just need ideas i dont have many others to pick for ideas to be honest. Really any ideas would be wonderful.
