Hello All-
I have always, over the decades, avoided magic wielding characters. But, since I have very few options left in doing something different to play with my son, who is new to RPGs, I have chosen to cross that forbidden line and play a cleric.
I was hoping, in the collective Wisdom of all, that I could receive some direction as far as traits and feats go. I am making a Human worshipper of Asmodeus (I assume that's allowed since ppl can play Hellknights, yes?). I want to lean more toward the battle impact side than the healing route. I'm willing to channel after a battle if needs be, but I would prefer to be a more forceful representative of my deity.
With that in mind I was thinking of taking Seeker as one trait for the perception but not sure about the second. I'm looking for any suggestions as far as feats go.
In advance I really appreciate any and all input.

What sort of weapon are you looking to wield? If you are using a two-handed weapon, you may find it worthwhile getting the Birthmark trait so all you have to do is hold up your hand to display your holy symbol.
There are a few well-written cleric guides. I would suggest you start paging through them, get a better idea of what you want beyond just 'battle cleric of Asmodeus'.
By the way, the only option you would have for channeling is negative energy because of your deity. That means that you get spontaneous Inflict rather than Cure spells.
An evil cleric (or one who worships an evil deity) channels negative energy and can choose to deal damage to living creatures or to heal undead creatures.
Unless you are leading undead, you will not be able to use channeling to heal.

Asmodian Advocate archetype would be good for you. Gives a familiar who can be a flank buddy, combat manuver user, umd whore, or just an aid another abuser.
LN might be a better alignment for you. Keep asmodian/hellknight attitude but be better for party teamwork. From pure mechanical standpoint it expands the spell list you can cast and reduces alignment vulnerabilities.
Depending on what you want you might consider playing a warpreist. 6th level casting cleric but they get a ton of battle cleric style special abilities
Hellknight PRC is fun. After lv8 you might want to consider it if your domains don't scale well by level
Were you planning on doing any Asmodian contract stuff or Devil binding?

My cleric is a reach cleric, but that doesn't look like where you are going.
Rogue Eidolon’s guide gives some good advice on the basic cleric domains. There are now many more domains than that guide lists, but it gives you an idea of what to look for.
You have already picked a god and weapons. Have you picked domains yet?
As a battle cleric, spells like divine favor and shield of faith are going to be your normal picks. At later levels you will most likely continue to pick buff spells along with restorative spells like lesser restoration and restoration.
You can skip looking at anything that requires a heavy investment in skills, as a cleric, you just don't get that many.
You will want good Strength, Constitution and Wisdom. The exact order will depend on how much you want to focus on casting.
