Which check to leap onto a character?

Advice

What check would a diminutive creature need to jump from a ledge and land on a creature below, accurately, if any?

Silver Crusade

It would be standard movement, an acrobatics check to get to the square you want to fall on. What's the goal?

Depending on what you are trying to do it may also require another sort of roll. A climbing roll may be needed if you want to remain on him. If you are trying to do something to him that may fall under the combat maneuver dirty trick. But the acrobatics roll is what you need to land on him. If you want to avoid being noticed a stealth roll is also probably needed.

Thanks. The goal is a surprise attack from above.

Moving into the opponent's square would provoke an Attack of Opportunity.

Silver Crusade

Unless it's done as the surprise attack when the target's flatfooted, unless it has combat reflexes.

As for staying on the target, I would say that's more a grapple check than anything else.

Scarab Sages

The Vexing Dodger might be something you'd be interested in.

1.Stealth check, opposed by the target's Perception check. If there are people around the target, they get a Perception check as well.

2. Fly, or Acrobatics check as appropriate.
