Half-elf Investigator (Sleuth) Luck Regeneration

Rules Questions

If you take the half-elf's Investigator's favoured class bonus (+1/4 bonus on Inspiration rolls), does that count for purposes of making a 6+ Inspiration roll and recovering Luck points?

For example: Level 8 Investigator rolls a 5 with Inspiration. Normally that's not enough to get a Luck point, but the +2 from the FCB would push that result up to 7. So, +1 Luck?

Also, if you roll multiple inspiration dice at once and add them together, does the FCB apply to each roll individually or is it only added once?

Thank you for your time and consideration.

I... Think so? Compare the language to that of Daring. The first requires your result to be 6+, and the second requires your roll to be a "Natural 6". The first leaves room for larger die sizes and bonuses to the roll while the second does not. By a strictly RAW reading it seems to work.

Of course, it still only applies while you're investigating, but since you can roll Inspiration for free on Knowledge it's a very good way to regain Luck at no cost.

no, the recovery is dependent on rolling a 6. "and the die comes up a 6 or higher, she regains 1 luck point"

so since the die came up a 5, it doesn't matter that the bonus you get from that 5 is 7. No recovery.

When can you ever roll multiple inspiration dice?

Amazing Inspiration (Ex): When using inspiration, the investigator rolls a d8 instead of a d6. At 20th level, the investigator rolls 2d8 and adds both dice to the result. An investigator must be at least 7th level to select this talent.

Quote:
Rolling a 6 or Higher on an Inspiration Roll: When a sleuth rolls an inspiration die while on an investigation and the die comes up a 6 or higher, she regains 1 luck point. (If she rolls multiple inspiration dice at a time, she regains 1 luck point if the total is 6 or higher.)

It's odd that it says "and the die comes up a 6", but then it allows for higher numbers from rolling multiple dice. So, if you have a bonus and you get to roll multiple dice, it sounds like you use the total instead of what was rolled on the die.

And of course this archetype really wants this talent too:
Quote:
Tenacious Inspiration (Ex): When an investigator rolls his inspiration die, he can roll an additional inspiration die and take the higher result. The investigator must at least 13th level to select this talent.

I believe it's the total of the dice. So if your physical roll is a 6 or higher is when you regain a point.
