Am I correct in assuming that if I have a level 9 dragoon fighter with an elven branched spear finessed, that with gloves of dueling and trained grace through the advanced weapon training feat that I would get +16 to damage?
At 5th level, a dragoon must select weapon training with the spear group. The dragoon’s weapon training bonus with spears improves by +1 on attack rolls and +2 on damage rolls for every four levels beyond 5th (to a maximum of +4 on attack rolls and +8 on damage rolls at 17th level).
The dragoon does not gain weapon training in any other groups as he increases in level.
Prerequisite(s): Fighter level 5th, weapon training class feature.
Benefit(s): Select one advanced weapon training option, applying it to one fighter weapon group you have already selected with the weapon training class feature.
Special: This feat can be taken more than once, but at most once per 5 fighter levels.

yeah, the problem is whether the gloves of dueling increase the effective bonus by 2 or effectively increase your weapon training by 2 levels. And you were overly hopeful, because it increases the bonuses by 2.
I agree with CBDunkerson that 9th level with gloves of training gives you +4 to attack and +6 to damage, not a +8. Because the gloves states they increase the bonus by 2.
Still, even without that it is a very effective means of getting a big damage bonus.

Eh...the bonus to damage from a higher strength score doesn't have a great return when considering just adding a +4 strength, it's only 3 points of damage (because of two-handing). Increasing your dex by an extra two makes your to-hit one higher, and 1 point higher to hit is worth about 2 points higher of damage. But when you factor in things like weapon spec and greater weapon spec, that 1 extra point of damage probably isn't worth as much as making sure your iterative attacks have a better chance to hit.
All in all though, it shouldn't make a huge difference either way.
