This thread is intended to recruit 4-5 players for a weekly game to play through the Curse of the Crimson Throne Hardcover Adventure Path utilizing Fantasy Grounds VTT and Skype voice chat/group call. I have the Ultimate License for Fantasy Grounds, so players only need the Demo version or better.
The Game will run from 6PM until approximately 9:30 PM on Saturday nights.
Before submitting a character please download and read the Original Player’s Guide.
Characters start at level 1.
Races allowed: Core Rule Book races (with alternate racial traits allowed, plus see spoiler below) or Tiefling (alternate heritages and alternate racial traits allowed.)
Dwarves, Elves, Gnomes, and Half-Elves may add one alternate Racial Trait which would normally replace one Racial Trait without replacing the original.
Half-Orcs, Halflings, and Humans may add one alternate Racial Trait which would normally replace two Racial Traits, or two Racial Traits which would each replace a Racial Trait, without replacing the originals.
Classes Allowed: Aegis *UP, Alchemist, Bard, Brawler, Cleric, Fighter*, Inquisitor, Investigator, Kineticist, Magus, Marksman *UP, Monk (Unchained), Oracle, Paladin, Psychic Warrior *UP, Rogue (Unchained), Slayer, Soulknife *UP, Stalker *POW, Sorcerer, Swashbuckler, Warder *POW, Warpriest, Wizard
*Fighters get 4 skill points per level and add Acrobatics, Heal, Perception, and Stealth to their list of class skills. They may choose either Iron Will or Lightning Reflexes as an extra bonus Feat at 1st Level. They gain free access to Combat Stamina from Unchained.
*POW Path of War
*UP Ultimate Psionics
Archetypes published by Paizo or Dreamscarred Press for any of the above classes are allowed following the normal restrictions
Attributes: Choose one of the following arrays and modify for race: 17/15/14/13/12/10 OR 16/15/15/12/12/12 OR 14/14/14/14/14/14
Starting Wealth: 100 gp
Max Hit Points at level one, ½ HD +1 thereafter
Traits: Pick one Combat, Faith, or Magic Trait, one Family, Racial, Regional (must be appropriate for Korvosa), or Social Trait, and one Campaign Trait. The fluff for these traits should be incorporated into your character’s background write-up. Alternatively, you may roll on Ultimate Campaign’s Background Charts here in this thread and pick three of the Traits granted by said random background rolls plus the Campaign Trait (utilizing this option, you must use the rolls to detail your character’s background.)
Additional Unchained Rules Used: Background Skills, Dynamic Magic Item Creation, Disease and Poison, Craft and Profession
Submissions should consist of full crunch, a background which includes expansion of Campaign and other Traits fully integrated, a cluster of motivational and personality descriptors, a physical description of the character and/or link to an image, and a quote similar to the ones in the above linked CotCT Player’s Guide about why your character loves Korvosa. Korvosa and its fate are integral to the Campaign, and its survival should be well integrated into your character’s motivating factors.
Submissions must be completed by Friday, January 13th. My selections will be announced by Monday January 16th, and play will begin Saturday January 24th.
This campaign uses the fast experience track for levelling.

YouTube has some good walkthroughs and tutorials, plus I'm more than willing to get with you and walk through the program, all you need is the demo download to play in my games.
This one shows a lot of features nicely/quickly and shows the basics of combat(uses 4E).
At about 16:23 he misses the area where cover is available as a modifier.
On those initially non-targeted attacks, he could have just dragged the chat output over Balazar's token and it would have figured hit/miss. (you can also just drag and drop the attacks onto the enemy tokens to target them.)

Holy cow, Fantasy Grounds is SO much better than Pyromancers...
I would like to play a student of the Endrin Military academy. He'll go a level or two in fighter before going Ranger the rest of the way, taking a hippogriff as his companion as a member/agent of the Sable company marines.
I'll begin work on his character sheet and then figure out how to upload it to Fantasy Grounds.

Fantasy Grounds is, in my opinion, the best Virtual Table Top for running a game as complicated as Pathfinder. Mind you, that level of detailing makes for a somewhat higher learning curve to learn the minutia of the platform, but it also allows for some pretty smooth running once you've mastered a few basic items.
For instance, by the time we start playing, I should have all of the text, encounters, treasures, etc- everything from the book loaded in. You defeat a monster, and with a few clicks, I load all its gear into the party sheet, people can divvy it up, sell it, whatever. Add a weapon you find on an enemy to your sheet, it'll load your attacks with that weapon.
I will have time to walk people through Fantasy Grounds, and even if I don't, there are a lot of people in the Fantasy Ground Community who are willing to jump in and show you stuff.
The developers continue to improve it and I am super-excited to see what they do with the licensing deal they just signed. I expect it to get even better as we play.
Also wanted to let people know this has been posted On the Fantasy Grounds Forums so I'm looking at submissions from both sites.

The guard sitting behind the desk looked Raizale up and down assessing correctly the man had little more then what was on him and 6 copper to his name. Irritated at the disruption to his work he returned to his letter he was writing after dipping his quill in a nearby inkpot.
"The records of Mister Lamm are well documented, and he is a small player in a much larger scheme of drugs in the city. The Korvosa guard has a limited amount of resources and if we spent all our efforts on problems this small we'd never get anything done."
Raz stood trembling with rage as he recalled how his friend Inara had disappeared a month ago after losing her job as a barmaid. He had gone to the owner as soon as he realized something must be wrong and he had confided that she had been caught in the back room taking the drug on her break. He'd seen her speaking to Lamm just the week before and witnessed the man tipping her with a small packet of the drug. Raz knew that life had not been kind to Inara, they had shared many drinks and more to relieve the stress life threw their way but the last time he'd seen her he had turned down her chance to spend time together, saying he couldn't afford to waste time right then with his funds so low, he needed a bodyguard job soon. His phrasing had been regreted the moment the words left his mouth but it was too late and the hurt look in her eyes said enough.
Only a few short weeks later, Inara had lost her job and sold everything she had for enough Shiver to leave all her worries behind. Raz found her in her shack in Shingles, cold lifeless eyes staring at the ceiling. Clutched in her hand was the packet with the mark of Lamm's product.
"This...how can you...I won't allow this man to get away with this! You are supposed to give Korvosa justice! But where is the justice here when a killer is let to walk free and the dead go unanswered!"
The guard looked up extremely annoyed that the man was still there. "Take your beggar's problems elsewhere, unless you want to get to spend the night in a cell for disturbing the peace."
Outside Raz started up at the night sky uttering a small prayer to Aroden in Azlanti if the god could still hear him. "Forgive me for ignoring Inara's plight when she needed me. I shall put an end to this man so that no more lovers and families need suffer the loss I have tonight."

Alright! Presenting Rufus Cosmasus, formerly of the Sable Company:
http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=1059733
Rufus is the second son to a middle aged alchemist associated with house Bromathan. He grew up in Ridgefield, a diverse residential ward in North Point. Living so close to the Endrin Military Academy in Old Korvosa, Rufus had ample opportunity to see the elite marines of the Sable Company flying around on their hippogriffs and was enthralled by them. His parents on the other hand hoped he would either travel to Magnimar to learn Alchemy or else enroll in the prestigious Academae, but after botching three batches of alchemists fire in a row, and then attempting to stir in some fire-mephit ash to fix it, his father had plenty of time piecing his lab back together to conclude these things were probably not for Rufus.
So with his parent's blessing and with an endorsement from house Bromathan, Rufus enrolled at age 16 in the Endrin Military Academy. It quickly became apparent that whatever Rufus lacked in scientific ability, he more than made up for in physical coordination, and his head quickly swelled with dreams of the day when he'd ride a hippogriff for Korvosa, always spending as much time as he could get away with at the aerie when it was his division's turn to feed and groom the hippogriffs. He even had a favorite picked out; an abnormally strong hippogriff with black plumage named Storm.
All was going well until several months ago, when the aerie was raided by a man called Gaedron Lamm, and several highly valuable hippogriff eggs were stolen. Unfortunately for Rufus, Gaedron made good use of alchemical weaponry to pull off the heist, alchemy purchased from none other than his father...
What do you mean I'm under arrest? demanded Rufus, springing up from his cot at the Endrin Academy.
That's right Corporal. The alchemical explosives used in the raid on the aerie this morning came from none other than your father. Since you have intimate knowledge of the Aerie, that makes you the prime suspect. Now, if you'll come with me...
But that's completely ridiculous! I love those hippogriffs! And I would never do anything against the company or the city, I swear! Two guardsmen grabbed his arms and began to escort him out. I was at my parents house! I wasn't anywhere near the tower!
Save it kiddo. Oh, and you are of course suspended from the Sable Company, with expulsion pending your trial.
The trial was 3 weeks later. Three weeks of suspension, and supreme embarrassment for his Father with house Bromathan. Happily, the arbiter could not find sufficient evidence to convict Rufus, and he was released from prison. Unhappily, the arbiter could not find sufficient evidence to prove his innocence either, and with his name thus tarnished he was dismissed from the Sable Company and it's precious hippogriffs. Gaedron had done a clean job.
Released from prison, Rufus determined that he would clear his name and still become a Sable Marine. He managed to find work at some stables across the Jeggare river, mostly performing menial labor but also assisting in the young horse's training. Meanwhile, he worked feverishly with his dad to figure out who the real criminal behind the aerie raid was. It took some time, (Gaedron didn't just buy the alchemy himself) but after pouring through customer lists, working a couple of contacts in House Arkona, and even consulting a reputable harrow reader, he tracked down the real criminal.
Rufus presented his case against Gaedron Lamm to his commandant, but with Rufus's damaged reputation he was unable to convince him to send marines to take him down. He did however grant Rufus a warrant for Gaedron's arrest (no harm in taking down a crime lord, guilty of this particular crime or not), and told him that if he was that sure that Gaedron was to blame, he could bring him in himself. So, Rufus donned his Sable Company armor one more time, grabbed his bow and sword, and set out to take down the vile Gaedron Lamm.
Rufus Cosmasus has little to no talent at all for magic but is a great thrill seeker, and despite his family's favorable economic position has spent a fair amount of time running through the Shingles in Old Korvosa with friends. Now 17 years old, his dreams are filled with either hippogriffs or pretty young maidens (often both). Though sheltered from much of the injustice that pervades Korvosa and the dark cynicism it often brings, Rufus's normally innocent and upbeat personality darkened somewhat with his wrongful imprisonment and introduction to the popular vices of the area.
I'll leave it up to you as the GM to determine how closely associated he remains with the Sable Company.
Rufus is motivated by his thrill seeking tendencies which played a large part in leading him to the Sable Company, by his sense of honor and family dignity, which lately has been trampled upon substantially, a sense of duty to the Sable Company, even if he was dismissed, and finally, he is motivated by his desire to protect his family: His alchemist father and loving mother, an elder brother currently living in Magnimar while studying alchemy, a 15 year old sister who seems to be constantly getting into trouble, even sneaking off to Eel's End once, and an 11 year old sister.

This didn't last, however. In the end, her free spirit and willpower would win. She often found herself awestruck by fierce battles among drake and imp in the sky, and she thought she finally found what she was looking for. The drakes nor the imps cared for her, no matter what she did to try and get their attention, but she learned quickly that the imps were cruel devils and quickly grew to hate them. Though it took time, she made up her mind and sought freedom from the church, escaping to the Shingles.
A runaway, she had absolutely nothing to her name. At first, she had no idea what she was doing. She faced fights and beatings over simple places to spend the night, and quickly came to love the view from the rooftops. How much easier her life would be if she could only escape to the sky.
Her life on the streets taught her many things about the cruelty of life, but the sense of being in control of her own life-- how pathetic and lowly it was-- brought her hope. In time, she found a knack for magic that had been locked away deep inside of herself: she found she could see traces of magic in trinkets she stole, ways to make even the fullest bag look empty-- and in a pinch, ways to defend herself.
Making a small name for herself, she found an in with the Cerulean Society and learned more tools and tricks to keep herself alive and fed. Over the years, she's taught herself a lot of particularly useful things including the Draconic language.
There are a few days that stand out to her:
The day she first spoke to a house drake. Early on in her days as a thief, she found out a little secret about the local mini-dragons of Korvosa: they loved silver. The house drake called her "Vrak", after spending one sole hour in her company for the price of a shiny silver piece, and for many years this was her new name. Her status as a lowly thief put her well bellow the interest of many house drakes for a time, and since that day she never saw that particular one ever again.
The day she finally could afford a place to live, followed shortly by the day she was able to obtain various other items. While she had been raised in what she describes as "false wealth", every small treasure she owns has a name. Ner, her longspear, and Svent, her crossbow, are near and dear to her heart.
The day she met Noachi. In a twist of fate, a nest of bats had settled in the loft she called home. Though she managed to get most of them to find a better home, Noachi had decided he didn't want to live anywhere else and came back a few nights later. She fell in love with the little guy, and to her understanding, he felt the same way. The pair are rarely seen without each other, though usually Noachi hides in the crook of her neck, under the hood she's always wearing in a nest of her hair.
The day she choose a name for herself. While her street name would stay "Vrak" to many, she poured over variations in the Draconic language until she had a name all her own. Irthiski "Iski" Orniejir. [Little Secret "Star" Silverblood] To those she meets for more above the table situations, Iski is her go to name.
It hasn't all been sunshine and roses, even once she got her life more or less together. Occasional nights in jail, paying for bail-- she tries to spend as little time interacting with the guard as possible, sticking to the sections of town where everyone's a criminal and the law is easier to pay off. That life of crime tends to lead down dangerous pathways, and... Well, Vrak certainly lost her way somewhere down the line. In a series of entirely horrible personal choices, Vrak became addicted to a drug known as Shiver, and nearly died from it. She woke up in a ditch, everything taken from her-- including the small knife she usually kept on her person for protection.
At home she had a few items, but it took her nearly a month to fully recover and all of her savings have dried up. She's well enough now to return to her old life, but before she does... She has a score to settle.
Primarily, Iski is driven by an urge to not only survive but thrive. She desires knowledge about her innate magic and of the house drakes that fly in the sky, a quiet part of her hoping she could join them in the air one day.
She can be pessimistic, snarky, and perhaps a bit rude-- but no one has shown her respect in her life and she finds it sensible to return the favor. Although she can come off as bitter, she in truth is a very hopeful and genuine person. Incredibly strong willed and stubborn, she seems to survive through sheer determination.
While she holds no particular ill will towards the Church of Asmodeus, she is deeply afraid of what might happen to her if she were to return or be found alive by those who might be searching for her even after all these years. Still, she has probably more enemies than she even knows about, so she mainly avoids thinking about it rather than facing those fears.
She is slow to trust but more than willing to take advantage, or at least compromise and work together, with those who extend their hand. She wouldn't give her life for anyone in the Cerulean Society, but she prefers their familiar company at the very least.
Since nearly dying from Gaedren's drug, Iski has learned she is not the only person the man has got his hooks in. The more she discovers about Gaedren, the more convinced she is. Being outside the law, she's more than willing to end his life to save countless others-- for the good of the people. What's a bit of blood on her hands? True evil deserves to be fought and destroyed. The House Drakes of Korvosa taught her that-- and it was a better lesson than anything she ever learned as a child.
While she is well aware of her demonic heritage, she doesn't yet know of the dragon blood in her veins.
Lastly, here's some arts I did instead of sleeping.
All done! :D Let me know if I should change anything. I'll send the Hero Lab file over at some point.

"Why wouldn't I live in Korvosa! It's a noble society, just about the only one in Varisia. At the same time, there's plenty of adventure: I remember one time I was out with my boys up in the shingles trying to catch a pseudodragon, and here one of those stalkers snuck up on us! Nearly got Mazil. In short, Korvosa's neither savage like the rest of Varisia, nor is it stifling like Cheliax. Gods forbid they ever try to push their diabolism on us. Or maybe devils forbid. Oh hell, who cares..."
