Good Undead Resource Books (PFRPG)

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Hopefully this forums section is acceptable, I wasn't sure if this counted as product discussion, 3rd party, etc. as it's pretty open.

I was wondering if people could help me out with looking for some good resource books on undead for use with Pathfinder.

I've already noted Undead Revised and Undead Unleashed and will look and picking them up (unless someone says they're not worth it).

Otherwise are there any good books/modules either official Paizo or 3rd Party to help augment undead sections of campaigns, or generally give some new life to undead creatures.

I already own Tome of Horrors 1 - 4 and all Paizo bestiaries.

I could be tempted with 3.5/OGL books but want resources without any conversion/rewriting needed if possible.

Are you looking for undead monsters, specifically? Or just undead-related things like necromancy-themed character options?

Anyway, I think there are some undead monsters scattered in the Adventure Paths. For example,

RotRL spoilers:
the Carrionstorm, in the anniversary edition.
And there's the Daughter of Urgathoa, in Inner Sea World Guide. And there are quite a few in Inner Sea Bestiary and Occult Bestiary. I know you mentioned you have all bestiaries, but I wanted to be sure.

I think that's pretty much it.

Thanks, I own RotR and the Inner Sea World Guide but had overlooked them when looking for stuff. Occult I haven't touched as I wasn't sure how well it meshed into non-occult games.

Mostly looking for monsters, although I enjoy reading lore/fluff about undead as well.

The Advanced Bestiary by Green Ronin. Mythic Monsters Undead by some 3rd party publisher that I can't remember. You could run a search on the Paizo store or DrivethruRPG and look for undead supplements.

For older 3.5 books, Monster Manuals 1 through 5, Ravenloft 3.5 by White Wolf Games, Libris Mortis, and Grumpy Cat.

You might enjoy this: Enhanced Undead.

The Occult line of books was implemented to fit into to the other stuff, especially Occult Bestiary. It's just an added layer of depth into the game.

For lore and fluff, Undead Unleashed is an excellent read.

"Lords of the Night" by Dreamscarred Press is about vampires, especially as PCs.
The D&D books about the undead were titled "Van Richten's Guide to ...", but I didn't find them interesting myself. Libris Mortis (3.5) was OK as a book, but had nothing really new in it. The original two Ravenloft modules (AD&D and later re-writes) don't have new material about the undead, but I liked them a lot and the second one, The House on Gryphon Hill, had an interesting story.

Thanks for all the replies. These are great, I'll start picking some up.

And don't forget Horror Adventures! It has a bunch of rules with an undeadish theme, including haunts, environmental setpieces, and GMing advice.

I have a feeling this might be something I get on Sunday, as it was on my Amazon wish list and I haven't seen Amazon trying to tell me to "treat myself" with it for about a month (boo present spoilers!)

If not I plan to pick it up for my CotCT campaign though, as I really want to make Chapter 5 of that a nice memorable creepy time for my players.
